Miami Music Festival (MMF) is proud to announce the second season of their prestigious Miami Wagner Institute, welcoming Grammy Award-winning soprano Christine Brewer and returning bass-baritone Alan Held to MMF's team of internationally acclaimed faculty, to teach and perform with eight rising dramatic stars.
Miami Music Festival Announces Official 2017 Program Lineup

Miami Music Festival (MFF), an intensive training program for the next generation of classical musicians to work with mentors and gain performing experience, announces the lineup for the 2017 season from June 6 through July 30, 2017 at various venues in Miami. In its fourth season, MMF will host young artists from around the world selected from top conservatories and universities. MMF receives nearly 1,500 international applicants each season with only a small portion selected for participation through a rigorous audition process.

The 2017 Schwabacher Debut Recitals series concludes on Sunday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m., with a recital by a trio of San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows featured with collaborative pianist Warren Jones in a program of Italian and French repertoire.
7th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition Chooses 17 High School Acts for Final Event

On Saturday, March 4th, 40 metro area high school acts competed in the Semi-final round of the 7th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition. St. Louis performing arts professionals judged the acts and narrowed the field to 17 acts (29 individual finalists) who will move on to the finals on Saturday, April 8th at 8pm at The Fabulous Fox Theatre (a list of acts can be found here). These acts are one step closer to performing on the Fox Stage and winning college scholarships, prizes and performance opportunities. 'We couldn't be happier with the level of talent this year. While we usually only advance 12-13 acts to the finals, this year is an exception and we have 17 qualifying acts!' exclaimed Mary Strauss, Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation Board President. The final competition is a Broadway-style show that is FREE and open to the public. General Admission tickets are required and available now at no charge at The Fabulous Fox box office and through Metrotix.

The winners of the 46th annual George London Foundation Awards Competition for young American and Canadian opera singers were announced at the conclusion of the competition's final round this evening, which took place in a front of an audience at Gilder Lehrman Hall at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.

The Old Opera House Theatre Company held the 16th Annual New Voice Play Festival this past weekend at the Old Opera House in Charles Town. Four new plays were featured in this event and the audience served as the final judge. The Old Opera House patrons selected the play Grim Tidings by Dennis Jones from Powhatan, VA as their favorite of the festival. All four plays received positive reviews from the Old Opera House patrons and the participants in this year's festival.
