Canadian heldentenor Lance Ryan will sing Tristan with Christine Brewer as Isolde, heading an incredible cast also including Katarina Karne?us, Boaz Daniel, Stephen Milling and the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. Visual artist S. Katy Tucker, who brought the sea into the Concert Hall for The Flying Dutchman in 2013, returns to transform the Concert Hall with her inspired and fluid illusions, providing a stunning visual interpretation of this powerful drama, opening June 20.

After a critically acclaimed run in St. Louis in June of 2014, composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Royce Vavrek's opera "27" will now be available to audiences around the globe, with the release of the world premiere recording of the opera on Albany Records. Recorded live in performance throughout the run of the opera, the album is the first commercial recording of a commissioned world premiere from Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

With Valentines Day quickly approaching, a comedy about a romantic dinner sounds perfect. Add in mistaken identities, sexual humor and some surprise plot twists, and you find the perfect date night in the comedy Don't Dress for Dinner, premiering this Friday to open the 2015 season at the Old Opera House.
Directed by Steven Brewer, Don't Dress for Dinner is fast-paced farce set in the charming French countryside. Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his mistress while his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He invites his best friend, Robert, over for a fool-proof alibi. But, as it turns out, Robert is actually Jacqueline's lover, Jacqueline decides not to leave after all, Bernard's mistress must now pretend to be the cook and everyone's alibi is altered as Bernard and Robert try to talk their way out of a relationship mess!
Lyric Opera of KC to Continue Season with Vinson Cole & Friends in January

Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 57th season with a very special event, Vinson Cole & Friends, on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 4pm at the historic Folly Theatre. This benefit for Lyric Opera will include Christine Brewer and Daniel Belcher for an evening of opera classics. All have strong Missouri ties: Daniel Belcher called Kansas City home for several years and performed with Lyric Opera of Kansas City several times. Christine Brewer began her career with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and performed several times with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Vinson Cole, a beloved Kansas City treasure, received his training at University of Missouri-Kansas City and is currently a member of the faculty of their Conservatory of Music and Dance.
