LEGALLY BLONDE will open in Lillestrom on September 18. The musical has been produced numerous times by local groups in Norway in recent years, but producer Lars Christian Wahlberg, who produced Shrek - The Musical last year to great acclaim, has big ambitions for this production. 'This will be the biggest production of Legally Blonde in Norway to date,' he promises.

The opening premise of 'The Phantom of the Opera' is all too familiar. The leading lady can't go on, and a chorus girl has to step in and save the performance with close to no time to prepare or rehearse, but her debut is a triumphant success. This scenario actually became a reality at Folketeatret, where the reimagined version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterpiece is currently playing to packed houses.
It's been more than 30 years since the world fell in love with Jennifer Beals' bad-ass welder turned dancer, Alex Owens, in the iconic dance movie 'Flashdance'. In the musical adaptation it is just as easy to fall in love with Heidi Ruud Ellingsens's portrayel of the character.

As I am greeted by 'The Phantom of the Opera' producer, Karianne Jaeger, and led up through the back stage's circular stairs the atmosphere in the theatre feels very focused and concentrated. Stagehands working to fit the stage pieces in the cramped wings, technicians are lighting the ballet dancers during 'Ill Muto.' The huge chandelier (bigger than the original) is looming in the ceiling over the stalls. 'We are in great shape,' Jaeger exclaims. 'We are in the middle of the final technical rehearsals, but we are working hard to make this great production even greater. It's all in the details.'
Annie will be playing at Lorenskog hus October 18. It will be set in a modern setting, but it will not be the way they did in the remake.
