The best of Broadway is being presented free on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2010' - a lunchtime series which began on Thursday, July 8th at 12:30pm on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Bank of America, and JCPenney 33rd & 6th, and hosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities, the tenth annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances runs through August 12th.

Photo Flash: Broadways LOMBARDI - First Production Shots!

Producers Tony Ponturo and Fran Kirmser will present LOMBARDI at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre this fall starring Dan Lauria as Vince Lombardi and Judith Light as Marie Lombardi, written by Academy Award winning playwright Eric Simonson and directed by Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail. Joining Ponturo and Kirmser as special producing partner is the National Football League, marking the organization's first foray on Broadway. LOMBARDI, a new American play, is based on the best-selling biography When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi, by Pulitzer Prize winning author David Maraniss. The new American play LOMBARDI, starring Dan Lauria and Judith Light, goes into rehearsal later this month for its Broadway engagement at the Circle in the Square Theatre. The production will begin previews on Thursday, September 23, 2010 and officially open on Thursday, October 21.

The new American play LOMBARDI is heading to Broadway after recently concluding its week-long, out-of-town engagement at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

LOMBARDI Producers Donate Thousands in Thanks to Berkshire Arts and Sports Programs

The Berkshire Eagle reports that LOMBARDI producers Tony Ponturo and Fran Kirmser have donated $7,000 to local sports and arts programs in thanks of their support of the incoming Broadway production. LOMBARDI is currently running at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center where it has played all week. The final performance is tonight, July 28 in that location before making the move to Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre.

The Beatnik Café Perform at Richmond Shepard Theater, 6/20

The Beatnik Café: Musical Revue of the Jazz Beat Generation is scheduled to perform on June 20th at 7:30 pm. Beatnik Café will play at the 80 seat Richmond Shepard Theater (309 E 26th St. at 2nd Ave). Tickets are $25 and include one drink.

On Thursday, October 21, 2010 producers Tony Ponturo and Fran Kirmser, along with executive producer Nicole Kastrinos, will open LOMBARDI at the Circle in the Square Theatre on Broadway, directed by Tony nominee Thomas Kail. Previews will begin Thursday, September 23, 2010, following a July 22-28 engagement at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. LOMBARDI Author Maraniss Feels 'All Joy' About Broadway

Author David Maraniss, whose 1999 book 'When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi' is the basis for the upcoming Broadway play LOMBARDI, has expressed his surprise that his work was so quickly made into a Broadway play.

Producers Tony Ponturo and Fran Kirmser today announced additional casting as well as the creative team for LOMBARDI, coming to Broadway's Circle in the Square this fall (previews begin September 23, opening night is October 21). The cast will feature Judith Light as Marie Lombardi, Keith Nobbs as Michael McCormick, Bill Dawes as Paul Hornung, Robert Christopher Riley as Dave Robinson and Chris Sullivan as Jim Taylor.
