Whatever your artistic quest may be, from unearthing gem stones or archeological ruins to discovering a lost manuscript of music, there is always an element of nostalgia and new found glee when the item arises. Stage director Fortunato Pezzimenti discovered Arthur Richman's unpublished 1922 script THE AWFUL TRUTH in the New York Public Library for The Performing Arts in 2011. Only briefly produced on Broadway in 1935, the story has been told on 3 occasions on the silver screen.
Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.
Comedy Central President Kent Alterman today announced the renewal of Corporate for a second season. The series, which Variety hailed as “deliciously dark and hilariously ruthless” and Indiewire called “the first great comedy of 2018,” premiered in January as the highest-rated basic-cable primetime comedy of the 2017-2018 season among males 18-34. Corporate airs Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with the season finale airing on March 14. Previously aired episodes are available at www.cc.com/corporateand via the Comedy Central App.

The Directors Guild of America honored outstanding achievement in directing for film and television at the DGA Awards last night. Big winners included Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water, Reed Morano's The Handmaid's Tale, Jordan Peele's Get Out, Jean-Marc Vallee's Big Little Lies, and Beth McCarthy Miller's Veep. Director Michael Apted received the DGA's honorary life member award.

Directors Guild of America President Thomas Schlamme today announced the DGA's nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, Commercials and Documentary for 2017.
The 2017 awards honor productions which opened between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors.
