World Premiere Drama BURT...A HOMELESS ODYSSEY Comes to Theatre 68 ImageIn celebration of their 17th Year in Los Angeles, Theatre 68 are delighted to present a World Premiere, by Sam Henry Kass in "BURT...A HOMELESS ODYSSEY," one of six plays in the Theatre 68 Festival Series. Directed by Ronnie Marmo. The show premieres in the MainStage on Saturday, February 10th, 2018, at 7:00PM. Tickets on sale at: www.Theatre68.com

A Poet's search for acceptance, understanding & respect, leads him on a homeless journey throughout the big city. Through Burt's eyes & words, we witness all that too many of us try to avoid-- Homelessness, hunger, pain, political unrest & uncertainty, & ultimately a belief and hope that all is not quite lost. We see a country in turmoil-- Lost and forgotten souls, ignored by the masses, yet refusing to not have their voices heard. "BURT" is about the spirit to not only survive, but to flourish. The fire that burns in all of us, & mankind's ultimate refusal to yield one's dreams, hopes, & spirit. An ode to a severely damaged country, and a belief that together we not only can save each other, but also help to rebuild a society we can all once again, be proud to call our own.

This play pays homage to people who aren't recognized, the creative souls, artists and street-people. The lost and forgotten we pass-by on the street and don't give a second glance. But guess what? In this play, we are going to stop and listen to them.
