From African chants and Delta spirituals to the urban electricity of a Chicago nightclub, from dusty back roads bluegrass to the twang of a country juke joint, It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues is a stirring retrospective of blues classics that summons the soul of American music. Over two dozen musical numbers are included, among them I'm Your Hoochie-Coochie Man; Goodnight, Irene; Fever; Walkin' After Midnight; The Thrill Is Gone and Let the Good Times Roll.

Chenango River Theatre Hosts 8th Annual Big Cash Raffle Today

Chenango River Theatre will host its 8th Annual Big Cash Raffle from 6-9pm today, April 18 at the Genegantslet Golf Club. $9,550 in cash prizes will be awarded to the 7 lucky ticket holders with winning numbers - only 250 tickets will be sold. The Big Cash winner will take home $7,500 stuffed in a big jar. Second place is $1,000 and there are 5 additional cash prizes from $100-$500.

Season tickets start as low as $65 to see all four of the shows in Chenango River Theatre's 2014 season. CRT is the area's only non-profit theatre company authorized to feature professional actors in every show and brings in national caliber actors from all over the country to rehearse and perform here in the Southern Tier. Basquiat, a new musical about the life and times of 80's art-star, Jean Michele Basquiat just premiered a special concert version of the show at Joe's Publast night, December 16th. The performers included Eric LaJuan Summers (Motown: The Musical) as well as Lena Hall (Kinky Boots) and Felicia Finley(Mama Mia, The Wedding Singer). Other performers include Ken Robinson (Memphis), Julius Thomas III (Motown: The Musical) Chad Carstarphen (In the Heights), Benjamin Mapp, Jimmy Lambert, Roger DeWitt, Eddie Varley andNikki Kimbrough (A Night with Janis Joplin).
