Daniel Breaker, Arielle Jacobs & Joanna Jones Feature in Next BROADWAY JAZZ SESSION

Daniel Breaker (Hamilton), Arielle Jacobs (Aladdin) and Joanna A. Jones (Hamilton) will be the featured vocalists in the March 10th installment of 'Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz Session,' the popular series which presents In Transit composer Kaplan's innovative jazz interpretations of current Broadway favorites.

Having had the opportunity to meet Drama Desk Award Winning actor, Chesney Snow, during his run of IN TRANSIT and maintaining a connection to his artistry, have both been an absolute honor and pleasure. And at that time, Mr. Snow began the process of bringing his autobiographical choreopoem, UNWRITTEN LAW, to life at Dixon Place. Since then, Chesney has been performing, teaching, and writing all over the world.

Brooklyn Playwright's True Story From Incarceration To Broadway THE UNWRITTEN LAW Comes to Dixon Place

World renowned beatboxer Chesney Snow will present The Unwritten Law - his harrowing journey from a legacy of incarceration to fatherhood, homelessness to Harvard, to ultimately starring on Broadway in the musical In Transit. Brilliantly blending powerful prose, contemporary dance, live music and visual design, The Unwritten Law adeptly weaves together a truly inspiring American story of redemption and resilience in an unforgettable evening of theater. The play will run for a limited time through September 29th for eight performances at 7:30pm.

THE UNWRITTEN LAW Comes To Dixon Place

Dixon Place (Ellie Covan, Founding & Artistic Director) presents the co-production of world-famous beatboxer and Drama Desk Award recipient Chesney Snow & critically praised director Rebecca Arends's THE UNWRITTEN LAW opening Friday, September 7th. Snow comes direct from his run in Broadway's In Transit, where Ben Brantley of the NY Times called him 'a one-man sound effects wiz.' Directed and choreographed by Rebecca Arends, with original live music, Snow delivers a brilliant blend of spoken word, dance, and visuals. THE UNWRITTEN LAW, will play a limited engagement at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). Tickets for THE UNWRITTEN LAW range from $18 to $25. Kaufman Music Center's annual showcase of some of the best new musicals headed to New York theaters will include shows by Academy Award Winner and 'Let It Go' songwriter KRISTEN ANDERSON-LOPEZ ('Frozen') and RICK ELICE ('Jersey Boys,' 'Peter and the Starcatcher'), plus music director ANDY EINHORN ('Bullets Over Broadway, 'Sondheim on Sondheim' & the upcoming 'Hello, Dolly' starring Bette Midler). Featuring performances by BETSY WOLFE ('Falsettos'), SEBASTIAN ARCELUS ('Jersey Boys,' TV series 'House of Cards' and 'Madam Secretary'), DREW GEHLING ('Waitress') and many more.

Hip-Hop and Social Justice Musical Begins Beta Series Workshop

Village Theatre kicks off the second Season of the Beta Series with How to Break, a new musical with book & lyrics by Aaron Jafferis, song & lyrics by Rebecca Hart, and a beatbox score by Yako 440. How to Break will run at Village Theatre's First Stage Theatre in Issaquah from January 5-14, 2018.
