BroadwayWorld is excited to report that Berkeley Playhouse will present the world premiere of BRIDGES: A NEW MUSICAL, with lyrics and book by Cheryl L. Davis (2009 Writers' Guild Award winner and Daytime Emmy Award nominee for As the World Turns), composed by Douglas J. Cohen (2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Off-Broadway's Children's Letters to God, Richard Rodgers Grants and the Gilman & Conzalez-Falla Theatre Foundation Award for Off-Broadway's No Way to Treat a Lady), and conceived by Founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy (developer of new musical theatre works for Berkeley Playhouse including: Born And Raised, Bravado, and Just So Stories).
TCG Launches Audience (R)Evolution Cohort Grants Program

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for the American theatre, is pleased to announce the launch of the Audience (R)Evolution Cohort Grants. Funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Cohort Grants will provide amounts of $25,000, $75,000, and $200,000 to allow teams of three or more not-for-profit organizations to design and implement audience-engagement and community-development strategies together.

About The Author:
A former journalist and English teacher, Cheryl Bolen sold her first book to Harlequin Historical in 1997. That book, A Duke Deceived, was a finalist for the Holt Medallion for Best First Book, and it netted her the title Notable New Author. Since then she has published more than 20 books with Kensington/Zebra, Love Inspired Historical and was Montlake launch author for Kindle Serials. Ai Weiwei announced last night at the opening of Andy Warhol | Ai Weiwei that he will gift his major new installation Letgo Room, 2015, to the National Gallery of Victoria. The work was commissioned by the NGV for the exhibition Andy Warhol | Ai Weiwei which opened to the public today. Incorporating more than two million plastic building blocks the work features portraits of twenty Australian activists, advocates and champions of human rights, freedom of speech, freedom of information and freedom of the internet.
