Riverside Theatre presents Rupert Holmes' 1985 musical THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, which opened January 16th and runs through February 4th!

According to Deadline, screenwriter Danny Strong (The Butler, Game Change, The Hunger Games) has joined the creative team for Disney's upcoming remake of Oliver!, directed by Tony Award-winning director of Hamilton, Thomas Kail.

As previously announced, Feinstein's/54 Below will present the rarely heard musical A Pound in Your Pocket as part of its popular Second Act Series on Wednesday, January 24th at 7:00pm. The very first collaboration from acclaimed songwriters Charles Strouse and Lee Adams, best known for Bye Bye Birdie, A Pound In Your Pocket is a delightful, Dickensian story about friendship and redemption. Strouse will be on hand at the one-night-only concert to greet fans and sign copies of his memoir, Put On A Happy Face.

This winter, Book-It Repertory Theatre and Caf Nordo pair up once again for a theatrical culinary collaboration. After a resounding success with A Moveable Feastlast year, both companies are elated to bring audiences a sexy, shadowy evening of mystery with Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon. BBC News has reported that an all-star cast will be leading the BBC small screen Les Miserables series. Dominic West will be playing Jean Valjean along with Lily Collins as Fantine, David Oyelowo as Javert, and Erin Kellyman as Eponine. This adaptation will not be a musical.

The Sunday matinee performance, on December 17, 2017, The State Ballet Theatre of Russia performed the iconic ballet The Nutcracker. This company brought the enchantment from the East to the venue of On Stage at Kingsborough Community College. A sold-out performance! The audience was comprised mostly of local Brighton Beach and other Brooklynites. The music of The Nutcracker is one of my top three favorite ballet scores and there are numerous reasons for that. Yet, my favorite reason is the ease by which choreography can be created for each piece of this fairy tale.
