Portland Stage Announces 2018/19 Season

Portland Stage creates one-of-a-kind productions specifically selected for its community. Each season, Portland Stage Executive & Artistic Director Anita Stewart looks for a means to connect the plays with a thematic thread. For the 2018-2019 Season, audiences may find the plays are connected by the idea of borders, boundaries, and how we embrace, or wish to change them. From a runaway slave seeking to join the Union army, to the photographer striving to help an Arabic speaking boy; from a man searching for his true identity, to a woman looking to connect with spirits, each play in our upcoming season looks at how we celebrate, rebel against or embrace and understand our place in the world.

Two Sensory-Friendly Performances Announced For Upcoming 2018/2019 Season at Goodman Theatre

Goodman Theatre announces two Sensory-Friendly/Relaxed Performances as part of its ongoing efforts to make the plays on stage accessible to all audiences. In partnership with Autism Speaks-Chicago, these performances are designed to create a performing arts experiences intended for families with members who have autism or other social, cognitive and physical challenges that create sensory sensitivities. The upcoming offerings include A Christmas Carol on December 29-building on the success of the first-ever performance offered this past year, during the 40th anniversary production of the Chicago holiday favorite, directed by Artistic Associate Henry Wishcamper.

DCPA Announces Full Lineup For Theatre Company's 40th Anniversary Season

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is proud to announce the 40th season of their Tony-Award winning Theatre Company, the first to be led by incoming Artistic Director Chris Coleman and the 8th season for their unconventional line of programming, Off-Center. The new season kicks off performances on July 11 and will feature 13 productions across seven different venues at the Denver Performing Arts Complex and beyond.

Epic Play FIGHT ON! Comes to Infinitheatre at Espace Knox

Fostering Infinitheatre's ongoing mandate of reflecting and exploring life in the 21st century, Artistic Director Guy Sprung examines Canada's ignoble past in this first part of the creative development of Fight On!, playing from April 10-22 at Espace Knox. This cross-cultural, multilingual, meta-Brechtian romp set during the late 19th century is the company's most ambitious production to date; incorporating masks, multimedia, dance, buffoonery, and authentic, embarrassing historical pronouncements. Fight On! Part 1 will be performed mainly in English, with significant characters speaking French, Cree, and Mohawk, with English surtitles. There will be talkbacks after each performance, plus invited guests on Thursdays. Trigger warning: satirical colonial views might cause self-conscious laughter.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to the Old Vic

Matthew Warchus' big-hearted, smash hit production of Charles Dickens' immortal classic A Christmas Carol returns to The Old Vic opening on 5 December, with previews from 27 November, joyously adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD at Wright State University

Wright State University Theatre concludes its 43rd season in the Festival Playhouse with the Tony Award-winning musical: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, running from March 15th - April 8th. The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a musical inspired by the unfinished novel by Charles Dickens. Drood became a Broadway smash hit, winning Tony's for Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score - all by Rupert Holmes in a tour-de-force creation.

Artistic Director Robert Falls announces Goodman Theatre's new 2018/2019 Season-a 14-play line-up of timely, original and inspired works curated by Falls in collaboration with his artistic associates. Trinity Rep Announces 2018-19 Season

Tony Award-winning Trinity Repertory Company, under the artistic leadership of Arthur P. Solomon and Sally E. Lapides Artistic Director Curt Columbus, announced the company's 55th season today. The 2018-19 Season, which includes a six-play subscription series plus a limited-run special engagement and the 41st annual production of A Christmas Carol, is one of the largest the company has ever produced and one of the most diverse. The season will run from October 4, 2018 through June 16, 2019. Casting announcements for the season will begin later this spring.
