The ARTS at MARKS will sponsor the 2nd annual H H Hawai`i Physical Comedy Fest. The fun starts with community workshops by Master Kumu Aitor Basauri on January 25, 2019. Seven performances follow by local and visiting artists will begin on Saturday, Jan. 26th , 7:30pm. The 11-time award winning show The Eulogy, the worst funeral speech ever by Michael Burgos will kick off the shows aiong with the local piece, Moringa, Tita, Ma`i, Maile featuring Slack-Key guitarist Macky Catania and performers Mareva Minerbi and Kukana.

Con anche piu di 50 versioni cinematografiche e televisive e tratta dall'opera di Charles Dickens, il musical racconta la storia di Ebenezer Scrooge, della sua avarizia e egoismo e della sua redenzione dopo aver vissuto una notte molto intensa con la visita degli spettri dei Natali passato, presente e futuro: messo di fronte alle sue cattiverie e alla sua solitudine, il vecchio usuraio si libera delle sue colpe, si riavvicina alla sua famiglia e ai suoi dipendenti sino ad allora sfruttati e malpagati riscoprendo il vero senso del Natale. La Compagnia dell'Alba ha portato in scena la versione musicata nel 1994 da Alan Menken, il pluripremiato compositore di tanti film della Disney con impeccabile professionalita e in collaborazione con il Teatro Stabile D'Abruzzo e la New Step di Americo Di Francesco e Paola Lancioni.

The Nerve Project Theatre, New York's newest and grittiest ensemble theatre company presents an all new adaptation of the epic Charles Dickens masterpiece, Great Expectations. Starring founding company members The Rivals' Joe Veale*, Annie Simpson*, David McCall*, Samuel Floyd*, Dax Dupuy, and Natalie Riegel*, This premiere event will run 3 select Off -Broadway performances at The Hudson Guild Theatre as part of The 2019 NY Winter Festival of Plays. Directed by Hans Meyers* and adapted by The Historic Barter Theatre's Playwright in Residence, Catherine Bush, this fun filled adventure marks the inaugural production of Nerve Project Theatre and is not to be missed. Ford's Theatre Society announced that audiences and the company of A Christmas Carol raised $100,777.76 for the Homeless Children's Playtime Project during performances of this season's A Christmas Carol. This year's funds raised brings the company's 10-year totals to $836,600.29 for D.C. charities, aiding the thousands within the D.C.-area who struggle with illness, homelessness and hunger.

Springing straight from its production of The Glass Menagerie, Lit Moon Theatre now brings three additional productions to Center Stage: First, Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol, is retold as Humbug. Then, on January 4th, Lit Moon offers its visually arresting and emotionally captivating production of A Doll House. The next day, 38 actors from Lit Moon's over 25-year history will join together for a brand-new production of The Nina Variations by Steven Dietz.

The performance itself is as a live concert rather than a fully costumed and set production, allowing actors to focus on the delivery of the score, bringing the music to life in a way that other productions cannot.

Though it's not billed as a musical, there's quite a bit of singing in Chesapeake Shakespeare's A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Anchored by strong character work, the production diverges from the format of 'straight play' by featuring wonderful harmonies and active, authentic-looking dances. Visual interest is high with action on three levels of staging, brisk pacing, brilliant costuming and dramatic special effects. Charles Dickens' effervescent dialogue and narrative paired with writer Ian Gallanar's adjustments create a classic rendition with a special Christmas In Baltimore flourish, a successful adaptation full of little surprises.
