Meadow Brook Theatre's 2019-2020 season has something for everyone with comedies, musicals, a drama and even a whodunit. Oliver!/book. lyrics and music by Lionel Bart/ based on Charles Dickens' novel Oliver Twist//directed by James A. Rocco/choreographed by Hector Guerrero/musical director: Ryan O'Connell/MTW (Musical Theatre West)/The Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Long Beach/through February 24 Oliver! is a devilishly fine musical by Lionel Bart who wrote the book, music and lyrics without collaboration. It's an uplifting story of an abused orphan who learns how to survive in 19th century London with the help of acquaintances from both sides of the track. Currently onstage via MTW at the Carpenter Center in Long Beach, the musical boasts a superb cast headed by Davis Gaines as Fagin and 15 delightful and talented child actors.

Wekiva River Players (WRP) announces the presentation of Lionel Bart's Oliver! March 8-10 at the Hagerty High School Auditorium in Oviedo.

Quintessence Theatre Group, a professional classic theatre company located in Philadelphia's Mt. Airy neighborhood, takes on Shakespeare's greatest tragedy this spring. KING LEAR, a searing drama about the dangers of absolute power, comes to Quintessence from March 19, 2019 through April 20, 2019. Opening night is Saturday, March 23 at 7:30PM.

Book-It Repertory Theatre [Book-It] announces that Founder and Founding Co-Artistic Director Jane Jones and Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt will step down from their roles at the end of Book-It's 30th season, in the summer of 2020. Over the next year, Book-It plans to hire a new artistic director through a local and national search.

Greenville Theatre's Executive Artistic Director Allen McCalla announced the theatre's name modification from GREENVILLE LITTLE THEATRE to GREENVILLE THEATRE on Saturday, January 19. Christmas may be over, but the National Theatre of Greece is still spreading yuletide cheer with A CHRISTMAS CAROL, playing now through January 27th, 2019.

The 2019 season opens with THE GAME'S AFOOT by Ken Ludwig. It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. Northern Ireland's Flax Trust Art's production of Oliver! The Musical is set to be revived one more time this January, due to huge and unprecedented public demand, at The Mac in Belfast.
