THE NEW YORK CITY GAY MEN'S CHORUS launched its 29th season with a time-honored New York tradition: under the Artistic Direction of Charles Beale, NYCGMC presented The New York City Gay Men's Chorus Holiday Spectacular 'Celebrate Me Home' at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday December 9th. NYC Gay Men's Chorus' annual Holiday Spectacular is one of the most anticipated highlights of the holiday season in New York City. This year, with 'Celebrate Me Home,' NYCGMC gathers with friends and family to share the holiday spirit, while continuing its steadfast efforts to celebrate the LGBT community through song. Hop a sleigh ride around the world as NYCGMC offers a program including carols from the Basque country, South Africa, Cuba and the Dominican Republic as well as traditional favorites like 'Sleigh Ride,' 'Silent Night' and 'Joy to the World.' There will be laughter, tears and inspiring messages of hope. It's the most fabulous holiday party in town.

The season, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dr. Charles Beale and Executive Director David Edelman, will feature three concert events that will look and sound unlike anything that NYCGMC audiences have experienced before: Celebrate Me Home: A Holiday Spectacular at Carnegie Hall (December 9th, 2008); The Big Gay Sing: A Sing-a-long Extravaganza! (March 2009, specific venue and date T.B.A.); and ¡Bienvenido, New York!: A Celebration of New York's Latin Communities at F.I.T.'s Haft Auditorium (June 3rd & 4th, 2009).

On Wednesday, September 17th, Broadway Voices, a new singing quartet from the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, made its debut performance at The Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues) with I Want It All - A Maltby and Shire Songbook. The legendary songwriting duo, Richard Maltby and David Shire, along with Shire's wife, actress Didi Conn (Grease) were on hand to wish the quartet well on their opening night.

The New York City Gay Men's Chorus (NYCGMC) will hold their 2008 benefit gala, 'With a Song in Our Heart,' on Monday, April 14 from 6-9:30PM at the elegant Warwick Hotel. Scott Nevins will lead the evening with his signature humor and flare. With entertainment by Broadway notables including Ann Hampton Callaway, Liz McCartney and the Tony-nominated Sharon McNight, the gala will be a night celebrating music, diversity and support for the LGBT community. The honorary host committee includes such famed LGBT supporters as Cyndi Lauper, Charles Busch, Harvey Fierstein, Kelli O'Hara, Roberta Peters, Karen Ziemba and Elaine Stritch.
