Performance Network Theatre has created a revolutionary Community Partner Program to facilitate change by raising awareness about other non-profit organizations, such as Jewish Family Services, that work toward the issues presented in a current production. "My Name is Asher Lev" adapted by Aaron Posner from the novel by Chaim Potok is the narrative of a young Jewish boy who lives in Brooklyn with his extremely orthodox family as he travels through time, reliving his journey as a painter and the struggles it presented within his family. A proud co-production with Performance Network Theatre in Ann Arbor and the Jewish Ensemble Theatre (JET) in West Bloomfield, "My Name is Asher Lev" received rave reviews from critics at the JET in April. The performances in West Bloomfield were so successful that the JET extended the run through June. "My Name is Asher Lev" is now coming to Performance Network Theatre on August 8 through September 8 starring Naz Edwards, Mitchell Koory, and John Seibert. Tickets can be purchased online at performancenetwork.org or by calling 734-663-0681.

The book was a hit when published years ago, and THE CHOSEN on stage is no less wonderful in this adaptation written and directed by Aaron Posner. With a first rate cast at Barrington Stage, this tale of two fathers and their sons is both gripping theatre and food for thought.
