My Name Is Asher Lev, the hit off-Broadway play based on the best selling novel by Chaim Potok, celebrated 200 performances at The Westside Theatre on Wednesday, May 22nd. The show recently won the Outer Critics Circle Award for best off-Broadway play and is currently on sale through September 1st.

Original cast member Jenny Bacon returns to the role she created in the off-Broadway production on June 10th, joining Ari Brand and Mark Nelson. The three actors began performances on November 8, 2012.

"My producing partners and I are elated that audiences continue to be enraptured by the story of Asher Lev and his desire to follow his dreams," said producer Darren Bagert. "After 200 performances and the original cast together again this summer, we know audiences will continue to be moved."

Set in post-war Brooklyn, My Name is Asher Levtells the coming- of-age story of a boy prodigy who must be an artist at any cost -- against the will of family, community and tradition. It is the powerful telling of a young artist with a universal theme to follow our passion - against everything.
