The Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non profit 501c3 community theatre now in its 6th year in the old Elks Lodge at 49 York Street within the first block if Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will once again be part of The Gettysburg Fringe Festival as they present their musical The Secret Garden, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, today, June 12, June 13, 20 & 21 at 7pm and June 15 & 22 at 2pm at GCT, as well as present the annual Canary Cabaret At The Blue Parrot Bistro on June 13 & 14 at 10pm at The Blue Parrot Bistro located at 35 Chambersburg Street in downtown Gettysburg.

Children with challenges prove that everyone can be an artist through GCT's adoption of the Illinois 'Penguin Project' as PETER PAN and company take to the skies over Neverland.
The Gettysburg Community Theatre will present Disney's Peter Pan as their 2014 Penguin Project production, a cast of youth with disabilities and their peer mentors without disabilities paired together from day one of rehearsal all the way to the final performance. The Gettysburg Area School District is partnering with GCT on The Penguin Project this year and Founding Executive/Artistic Director of GCT, Chad-Alan Carr, says 'These children inspire each of us to be better people. Parents, staff and I are in tears at every rehearsal at the incredible progress that these students show each week. We can not wait to premiere this project to the community.'

The gritty rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, starring Chad-Alan Carr as a transgender singer and 'internationally ignored song stylist' from East Berlin, Germany, will appear live on Stage on Herr at HMAC on January 17, 2014 at 8:00 PM and January 18, 2014 at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Featuring a book by John Cameron Mitchell and a score by Stephen Trask, Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a musical comedy about a fictional rock 'n' roll band, fronted by Hedwig (Carr), a transgender woman and 'internationally ignored song stylist' from East Berlin. The score includes memorable tunes 'Tear Me Down,' 'Wig in a Box,' 'Wicked Little Town' and 'Origin of Love.' The show features Lindsay Bretz-Morgan as Yitzhak and Kenny Geist, Michael Giblin, Tom Kristich, and Adam Rineer as the band, the Angry Inch.
