Anna Mackmin returns to The Old Vic to direct Toby Stephens in Tom Stoppard's multi-award-winning modern classic The Real Thing, opening on Wednesday 21 April 2010, with previews from

Richard Eyre's production of The Last Cigarette, adapted by Hugh Whitemore and Simon Gray from Gray's critically acclaimed The Smoking Diaries, is to transfer to the West End having previously opened the 2009 Season at the Chichester Festival Theatre. Starring Felicity Kendal, Nicholas le Prevost and Jasper Britton, who all perform as Simon Gray, The Last Cigarette will run at Trafalgar Studios from 21 April - 1 August, with opening night 28 April 2009. Designs are by Rob Howell with lighting and projection by John Driscoll and music by George Fenton.

The Old Vic announced a new line up of productions for 2009 that will begin in January with the World Premiere of the new play, COMPLICIT by Joe Sutton and directed in-the-round by Kevin Spacey. Following the hugely successful The Norman Conquests, which runs through to late December 2008, the new program brings further diversity and originality to one of London's oldest theatres.
Youth Music Theatre UK have announced a major new production of Howard Goodall's A Winter's Tale as the flagship production in their 2009 programme.
Goodall, who has written the music and lyrics for the show, has joined forces with Nick Stimson, who also directs. The production will be staged in Guildford, with a planned transfer to London and Edinburgh in 2010.
Imelda Staunton and Mathew Horne are cast in a major revival of Joe Orton's comic masterpiece, Entertaining Mr Sloane. Directed by Nick Bagnall, this dark study of sexual manners will run at the Trafalgar Studios 1 from 22 January to 11 April 2009 with press night on Friday 30 January, in a co-production with Michael Edwards & Carole Winter and English Touring Theatre.

David Eldridge's Under the Blue Sky will complete its run at the Duke of York's Theatre on 20 September as previously scheduled. Directed by Anna Mackmin, Under the Blue Sky is designed by Lez Brotherston with lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Arditti, and is produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Robert G. Bartner and Jamie Hendry.
