From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline” increased by 45% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.1), by 1.5 million persons or 31% in total viewers (6.4 million vs. 4.9 million) and by 47% in adults 25-54 (2.2 vs. 1.5). in the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “Dateline” delivered a 10% margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (with a 2.2 rating vs. a 2.0 for CBS's second-place “Blue Bloods,” breaking a tie at 2.0 each from 10-10:30).
