Eastbound Theatre, a division of the Milford Arts Council, announces auditions for the second show of its 22nd season, the living memoir HOLLYWOOD ARMS, by Carrie Hamilton and Carol Burnett, directed by Chris Peterson. Performances will be February 5th through February 21st, 2016, with a special benefit performance on Thursday, February 18th, 2016.

Carol Burnett's autobiographical play, HOLLYWOOD ARMS, written with her daughter Carrie Hamilton, is headed back to the stage! Sundance Institute in collaboration with Kaufman Music Center presents 'An Anniversary Concert Reading of Hollywood Arms' at Merkin Concert Hall tonight, September 21.

The award-winning Impro Theatre presents the return of their acclaimed production Twilight Zone UnScripted with a brand new production of Horror UnScripted - both in time for Halloween. Both shows are presented at the Impro Studio, the home of the Impro Theatre School in the heart of Los Feliz, from October 2 to 31. 

Botanicum Seedlings, Theatricum Botanicum's development series for playwrights, is pleased to announce the recipient of the fifth Israel Baran "Izzy" Award. Named for Theatricum's first dramaturg, who passed away in 2007, the award was created in honor of Baran's keen mind, sharp tongue and ear for language (despite the fact that he was frustratingly deaf), and recognizes the Seedlings play that "speaks to us the loudest." The winning play, Jew Kamp by New York City-based playwright Stephanie Swirsky, was presented as part of last season's Summer Playreadings series.

The Pasadena Playhouse announces before and after-show activities to be offered during the run of George Bernard Shaw's PYGMALION, performing March 17 - April 12, 2015 with the official press night on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Directed by Jessica Kubzansky, PYGMALION remains Shaw's most popular play, which is most widely known for being the inspiration behind the highly romanticized Broadway musical and film My Fair Lady.

On March 16, 2015, the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle announced its winners and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura County theater in the year 2014. Written by Theresa Chavez, Rose Portillo and Alan Pulner and directed by Chavez, Properties of Silence opens Feb. 28 at The Carrie Hamilton Theatre at The Pasadena Playhouse. Each performance will be followed by a 'Post-Silence' event in tribute to Sor Juana's legacy as the first feminist writer.

Poetry readings, performances, panels and discussions paying tribute to 17th century poet and feminist writer Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz make up the "Post-Silence" Salon Series set to follow each performance of About… Productions' original drama Properties of Silence. Kicking off the series, Red Hen Press presents poets Eloise Klein Healy (first Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, 2012), Jessica Piazza and Terry Wolverton on Feb. 28.
