EQUUS concluded its 22-week engagement as scheduled on Broadway on February 8th, 2009. The play opened in September 2008 at the Broadhurst Theatre, marking the Broadway debut of Daniel Radcliffe. Mr. Radcliffe starred in the revival of Peter Shaffer's play opposite Tony Award winner Richard Griffiths ('The History Boys'). The big question was always 'who'll replace Daniel on Broadway?'

On Friday February 7th, 2009, Daniel Radcliffe, the young star of Peter Shaffer's play EQUUS on Broadway had his very own Broadway Wall of Fame portrait unveiled at the popular theater district Italian eatery, Tony DiNapoli's. Tony DiNapoli's is located at 147 43rd Street. The hosts for the evening were radio personality Valerie Smaldone and Tony DiNapoli's General Manager, Bruce Dimpflmaier. Second Stage Theatre celebrated its annual All-Star Bowling Classic on Monday, February 2nd Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge. For over 21 years, stars of stage and screen have come out to bowl in support of Second Stage's award-winning seasons and to assist the theatre in its fund-raising efforts. BWW joined in on all the starry fun!

Roundabout Theatre Company presents a new Broadway production of Hedda Gabler, starring Mary-Louise Parker, Michael Cerveris, Paul Sparks and Peter Stormare. Hedda Gabler, by Henrik Ibsen with a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn, is directed by Ian Rickson at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). The cast also includes Lois Markle, Ana Reeder and Helen Carey. Hedda Gabler officially opened on Sunday, January 25th, 2009. This is a limited engagement through March 29th, 2009.

The UK's Telegraph is reporting that EQUUS star Daniel Radcliffe told producer Candia Fisher that he would like his next stage performance to be an all-singing affair. Radcliffe scored big at the annual Gypsy of the Year event this year performing an original song, written by Radcliffe himself, entitled 'The Love That Dare Not Speak Its Neigh' that included the show's 'horses' dancing and cavorting with their young star.

The Ziegfeld Theatre will host a magical marathon of the HARRY POTTER film series, which stars EQUUS lead Daniel Radcliffe as the heroic Potter. The historic Ziegfeld will show the films for a six day limited engagement starting December 19th and will play through the 24th.
