Ford's Audiences Raise $88K for Martha's Table

Ford's Theatre Society announced that a donation drive during performances of A Christmas Carol has raised $88,040.67 for the Washington-based charity Martha's Table. Donations were collected November 18-December 26, 2012. In addition to the curtain call collection, patrons also were encouraged to make donations through the Ford's Theatre Box Office and members of the Ford's Theatre Society staff donated money to the campaign. On December 12, members of the cast of A Christmas Carol volunteered by preparing meals at Martha's Table.

Cartoon Network Announces All-New Holiday Specials, 24-Hours of Classics

It's time to laugh as if you had a belly full of jelly and enjoy that warm, fuzzy holiday feeling when Cartoon Network kicks off its holiday programming on Monday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT) with a week full of all new holiday specials from Regular Show, Annoying Orange, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Looney Tunes Show and MAD. Then beginning Christmas Eve, Cartoon Network gives the gift of 24 hours of animated holiday classics like Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Tom and Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale. Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble previously announced the complete cast and creative team for their World Premiere production of Radiance, written by Cusi Cram and directed by Suzanne Agins. The complete cast of the upcoming production of Radiance includes Kelly AuCoin (Julius Caesar, Julie & Julia) and Ana Reeder (Top Girls, Sight Unseen), as well as Labyrinth Company Members Kohl Sudduth (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Take Me Out) and Aaron Roman Weiner (Thinner Than Water, The Glass Menagerie).

One-Man A CHRISTMAS CAROL to Play Country Playhouse, 12/6-12/24

The Country Playhouse will pre­sent A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, performed by John Stevens on its Cerwinske main stage for three weekends only, December 6 - 24. Opening night is Thursday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. Performances continue on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with two Sunday matinees on December 9 and December 16 at 2:00 p.m and a Thursday night show on December 13, at 7:30 p.m. Closing night is Christmas Eve.

Christian Horror Novel, THE DEVIL'S CHOIR, to be Released 10/24

Athanatos Christian Ministries has announced that their title by Chris Morrow, 'The Devil's Choir,' will be available as an ebook on October 24th and published in print on January 18th. 'The Devil's Choir' is a glimpse into natural and supernatural evil and is ACM's first foray into the horror genre.

Virginia Stage Company is hosting a progressive open house party and season preview tonight, Sept. 13, 2012 beginning at 5:00 pm. The evening will celebrate VSC's new offices and offer a preview of the upcoming season. Guests are invited to follow "The Path to Creating Theater" by visiting the new locations of the VSC Administration offices and the VSC Design Center, as well as the Wells Theatre, all within a 2-block radius.

Assassins will be directed at The Milwaukee Rep by Artistic Director Mark Clements. This will be the third musical he has directed since he began his tenure at The Rep following last season's hit Next to Normal and Cabaret from his first season. With the selection of Assassins for the 2012/13 Season, Milwaukee Repertory Theater shows its commitment to continuing to produce full-scale musicals as part of its repertoire. Clements has assembled a top-notch cast for this production featuring many performers with extensive Broadway credits. Assassins runs in the Quadracci Powerhouse from tonight, September 4 - October 7, and opens on Friday, September 7.

GRAPES OF WRATH, CHRISTMAS CAROL & More Set for A Noise Within's 2012-13 Season, Culver City

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, led by Producing Artistic Directors Geoff Elliott and Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, has announced its 2012-13 Season featuring six masterworks linked by spiritual, physical and emotional journeys. Presented during the second season in the company's new 33,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Pasadena venue are Shakespeare's CYMBELINE, George Bernard Shaw's THE DOCTOR'S DILEMMA, Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL adapted by Geoff Elliott, John Steinbeck's THE GRAPES OF WRATH adapted by Frank Galati, EURYDICE by Sarah Ruhl, and George Farquhar's THE BEAUX' STRATAGEM adapted by Thornton Wilder and Ken Ludwig. The season runs from September 2012 to May 2013.

Fountain and Deaf West Theaters Present Premiere of Signed CYRANO, 4/20

The Fountain Theatre and Deaf West Theatre present the world premiere of a modern day classic romance, a re-imagined signed/spoken version of "Cyrano de Bergerac." CYRANO, written by Fountain Theatre co-artistic director Stephen Sachs (Bakersfield Mist) and directed by Simon Levy, opens at The Fountain Theatre on April 28, with previews beginning April 20.
