One-Man A CHRISTMAS CAROL to Play Country Playhouse, 12/6-12/24

The Country Playhouse will present A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, performed by John Stevens on its Cerwinske main stage for three weekends only, December 6 – 24. Opening night is Thursday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. Performances continue on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with two Sunday matinees on December 9 and December 16 at 2:00 p.m and a Thursday night show on December 13, at 7:30 p.m. Closing night is Christmas Eve.
Join the Country Playhouse for Christmas carols in the lobby, led by choirs from local churches, hot cider and Figgy Pudding, and door prizes at intermission.
All ages love this ageless "ghost story," a true Holiday tradition. In creating his own adaptation, Stevens takes his cue from Dickens himself, who used to tour the country retelling it onstage, and from Patrick Stewart's one-man dramatization. This production is a restaging of last year's hit, with enhanced scenic presence.
Most recently seen at The Country Playhouse in Frankenstein and Below the Belt, John Stevens has appeared on Houston-area stages for about 25 years, often in leading roles in classic plays, including famed Dickensian villain Fagin in Oliver Twist. He also does another one-man show, Barrymore by William Luce, as originally staged by Christmas Carol director Bonnie Hewett.
