In response to the demand from last year's production, NewBridge Theatre has received a highly competitive Arts Activities Grant in the full amount of $10,000 from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council. This grant will allow NewBridge to add 12 more shows of Christmas Carol to their season which will include 14 professional core actors from the Company and between 6-11 young emerging local youth actors through double casting, a 'pay-what-you-can performance', and discount tickets will be available to those who bring in a non-perishable food item or toy donation for Hastings Family Service.
Actor Scott Langdon, recently seen in Artistic Director Jesse Cline's acclaimed production of Mame, is searching for the Holy Grail at The Media Theatre September 25 through November 3. He is stepping into the role of King Arthur in Monty Python's Spamalot in the Media Music Theatre Company production.

The program will air on PBS stations nationwide November 24, 2013 (check local listings). Artists are subject to change.

Excitement is mounting at Kansas City Repertory Theatre as it prepares to throw its first ever Tony Awards Watch Party. All the glitz and glamour of the 67th Annual Tony Awards, broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall, will be projected on to a 20-foot-tall screen in the comfortable Spencer Theatre. Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today that DTC Associate Artist and Brierley Resident Acting Company member Lee Trull has been promoted to Director of New Play Development. In his new position, Trull will produce readings, workshops and productions of new plays and musicals, manage new play submissions, serve as a member of the theater's senior staff, engage in education and outreach efforts, and participate as a member of the theater's artistic staff. Trull began working for Dallas Theater Center and joined the Resident Acting Company in 2008.

Trinity Rep has announced that during the months of November and December they collected $44,400 in cash donations to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Continuing their longtime practice of acting as a holiday drop-off location for food donations, the theater also concluded each performance of their holiday classic A Christmas Carol with a collection for the Food Bank. The donation was made on behalf of the thousands of Trinity Rep patrons attending the show, the theater's staff and ushers. The partnership between the two institutions has, even through challenging economic times, brought the total dollar amount raised for the Food Bank throughout the seven year partnership to nearly $260,000. Additionally, Trinity Rep is pleased to announce that hey donated 150 tickets to a performance of A Christmas Carol to Food Bank clients and their families, through the Open Access Theater program, generously funded by Citizens Bank.
