The Gateway's 2011 season is filled with award-winning musicals from the golden age of Broadway to the present era.

The show that garnered 8 Carbonell Award Nominations and won two awards, for Holly Shunkey, (Best Leading Actress in a Musical) and AC Ciulla, (Best Choreography) returns to the theater that provided its World Premiere production, Caldwell Theatre Company.

This August, from the 18th through the 21st, the Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) hosted its Summer Performing Arts Intensive in Philadelphia! During the intensive, attendees received first-rate training in acting, dance and vocal performance daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by savvy Broadway veterans who shared their invaluable insider knowledge on the skills needed to make it in show business.

On Sunday, August 1, Christopher and Vicki Le Vine celebrated The Broadway Dreams Foundation's return engagement to Philadelphia with a star-studded benefit fundraiser, hosted by television and Broadway personalities Nicole Parker ('MadTv,' Wicked) and Paul Canaan (MTV's 'Legally Blonde,' La Cage). The benefit was held at Grace Winery's outdoor amphitheatre nestled on the grounds of Sweetwater Farm Bed and Breakfast in the historic Brandywine Valley. From July 14th through July 31st, Gateway Playhouse presents a sinfully entertaining evening with the fourth show of its 61st season, the Off-Broadway phenomenon, Altar Boyz. The show is making its Long Island premiere, after running for an astounding 2,032 performances over the course of 5 years in New York City and winning the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical. Book by Kevin Del Aguila with music and lyrics by Gary Adler & Michael Patrick Walker. Conceived by Marc Kessler & Ken Davenport. Altar Boyz has touring productions all over the world, throughout the United States, Korea, Hungary, Finland, Australia, Montreal, and the Philippines.

Atlanta's Broadway dreams came true for the 5th consecutive summer when THE BROADWAY DREAMS FOUNDATION (BDF) presented their acclaimed Summer Performing Arts Intensive Monday, June 7 through Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Marietta, GA), Atlanta's premiere entertainment venue.

Lyricist Yesnowitz was joined by Broadway stars Chip Zien, Ann Harada, Noah Weisberg, Kate Reinders, Katie Clark, Courtney Balan, Lauren Kennedy, Farah Alvin and Carlos Encinias.

The off-Broadway staple Altar Boyz, played its final performance on January 10, 2010 at its home, New World Stages after playing 2032 performances. It is the 9th longest running off-Broadway musical in history.

Mark Indelicato, Philadelphia native and star of the smash hit ABC Television series 'Ugly Betty,' returned to his hometown when he joined the faculty of THE BROADWAY DREAMS FOUNDATION'S (BDF) Summer Performing Arts Intensive Program. The 15 year old actor, who is best known as fashion-obsessed Justin Suarez on the Emmy nominated series, spent the day at the program participating in a Q&A session and performing alongside the students in the final concert. BDF's Summer Performing Arts Intensive Program was held at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (300 South Broad Street) Tuesday, August 4 through Saturday, August 9, 2009.
