The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 135 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Those who accept the invitation will be the only additions in 2010 to the Academy's roster of voting members. Included in this year's list are Tony Award nominees James Gandolfini (GOD OF CARNAGE) and Anna Kendrick (HIGH SOCIETY), Drama Desk nominee Carey Mulligan (THE SEAGULL), director Adam Shankman ('Hairspray'), and musicians Bono & The Edge (SPIDERMAN: TURN OFF THE DARK).
Daniel Craig in Negotiations for 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' Film

According to Entertainment Weekly, Daniel Craig is in early talks to star in 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.' Sony, which is producing the upcoming film says there is no current offer being made, however Craig is scheduled to meet with Davis Fincher the director of the film sometime this week.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the upcoming remake of the 1964 classic My Fair Lady is still in the works, despite comments made at the Cannes Film Festival by the film's would-be star, Carey Mulligan, that hinted otherwise. Mulligan had commented that the film 'has gone away for a little while.'

According to a report by BBC Radio 5 Live, Carey Mulligan is set to play Eliza Doolittle in the upcoming remake of My Fair Lady, written by Emma Thompson. Previous rumors suggested that Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman were interested in the coveted role of Doolittle, however Thompson revealed that Mulligan has been cast.

Last Night, March 7, stars from all over the world came out for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Ceremony at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood California. 'The Hurt Locker' won Best Picture and the film's director Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for Best Director. Jeff Bridges took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his work in 'Crazy Heart', Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for 'The Blind Side', Christoph Waltz took home Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds' and Mo'Niqe garnered the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Precious'.
