According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. announced today that it will release Baz Luhrmann's Leonardo DiCaprio starrer The Great Gatsby on Dec. 25, 2012 , the same day DiCaprio's Django Unchained is set to open.

The 15th annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by Starz Entertainment, have announced that Oscar winner George Clooney will be honored with the 'Hollywood Actor Award' for his critically acclaimed performance in Alexander Payne's 'The Descendants.'

Classic Stage Company (CSC) opened Anton Chekhov's THREE SISTERS last night, February 3. The production will run through Sunday, March 6. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Director Baz Luhrmann has announced his interest in shooting his upcoming remake of The Great Gatsby in 3D.

The Longlist is the result of Round One voting by members of the Academy.

Deadline.com reports today that Carey Mulligan will join Leonardo DiCaprio and Toby McGuire in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby remake in the role of Daisy Buchanan. DiCaprio and McGuire will play the roles of Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway respectively. The roles were last made famous on screen by Robert Redford, Sam Waterston and Mia Farrow in Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation, directed by Jack Clayton. Luhrmann is co-writing this new adaptation alongside Craig Pearce. Luhrmann, of course, will also direct.
