Tuar Ard Arts Centre Presents 'An Education' 4/20
Tuar Ard Arts Centre Presents "An Education" for their final film screening of the season. "An Education" will be screened on Tuesday April 20 at 8pm.
"An Education" is a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in1960's surburban London and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age. Jenny (Carey Mulligan) finds herself in a whirlwind romance with the much older David (Peter Sarsgaard). Prior to meeting him, Jenny was working hard at secondary school to ensure getting to Oxford University. When she sees the lifestyle David can provide she's hooked and thoughts of Oxford are forgotten. Jenny goes from being a bright eyed school girl and a sophisticated young lady all the way back to questioning if she really knows who she is at all. "An Education" was nominated for 3 Academy Awards including Best Picture.
