According to Deadline, Sam Raimi is confirmed to direct Disney's highly anticipated Wizard of Oz Prequel, 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'. The deal was confirmed last night by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Additionally, Robert Downey Jr. is rumored to be in talks to star as the Wizard.

Hartford Stage has announced casting for Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder's gospel play Gee's Bend, which will begin performances Jan. 14, 2010. Broadway star Jon Tenney has landed a recurring role on the hit television series 'Brothers & Sisters.' Tenney will play a character named Simon, a new love interest for Nora Walker, the character played by Sally Field. Executive producer David Marshall Grant says of the character, 'Nora meets Simon, who is an oncologist at the hospital where Kitty is getting treated, and they start an affair."
