Three Dog Night, Muppet Movie Sing-a-Long, Dick Fox Doo Wop Extravaganza and More Set for Arcadia's 2015 Season

Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation presents its second season at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center -- Three Dog Night on Saturday, January 10 at 8 pm; The Four Tops on Saturday, February 21 at 8 pm; Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Friday, March 27 at 8 pm; The Muppet Movie Sing-a-Long on Saturday, May 16 at 2 pm and Dick Fox Doo Wop Extravaganza on Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm. This four concert season, and the additional attraction The Muppet Movie Sing-A-Long, is presented by the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation and is a means of raising funds to support arts in the schools and maintain this new, state-of-the-art facility.

Ira David Wood to Lead North Carolina Theatre's BILLY ELLIOT; Cast Announced!

North Carolina Theatre (NCT), the region's premier producer of professional Broadway shows, is excited to announce that Raleigh's own Ira David Wood, III has been cast in Billy Elliot alongside talented young Charlotte teen Sam Faulkner in the title role of "Billy." David will play Billy's father. NC Theatre's original production of Billy Elliot will run February 10 - 15, 2015 at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

Sheldon Henry, Kevin McAllister & More to Star in FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE at Arena Stage

Come and dance the blues away with Five Guys Named Moe! Helen Hayes Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootcandy, director of The Mountaintop at Arena Stage) returns to Arena Stage to direct an explosive, reimagined tribute to the 'King of the Jukebox'-legendary composer and saxophonist Louis Jordan. This modernized production features new orchestrations for classic songs, including 'Let the Good Times Roll' and 'Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby,' and a contemporary twist on the five Moes, now a hit boy band set in 2014. This dynamic musical revue features musical direction by Darryl G. Ivey (assistant music director for original Broadway production of Five Guys Named Moe) and choreography by Byron Easley (off-Broadway's Langston in Harlem). A co-production with Cleveland Play House, Five Guys Named Moe runs November 14-December 28, 2014 in the Kreeger Theater.

THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, SEUSSICAL, HARVEY, ANYTHING GOES and More Set for Alhambra Theatre & Dining's 2015 Season

The 48th season for the Alhambra Theatre & Dining promises a diverse nine-show slate with seven shows never before seen at the Alhambra. It will also feature three Broadway and pop culture veterans: Lisa Whelchel, who starred as Blair in NBC's 'Facts of Life,' 80's pop icon Debbie Gibson, and Charles Shaughnessy, who rose to prominence on the CBS hit, 'The Nanny.' Season Packages and individual-show tickets went on sale to the general public on October 1, said Managing Partner Craig Smith. Smith also announced the Alhambra's new website, making access to the Alhambra simpler and more dynamic.

Chris Van Cleave and Friends to Play Fallon House Theatre, 10/13

Chris Van Cleave and friends from the cast of Sierra Rep's Mark Twain's A Murder, A Mystery and A Marriage will present an evening of acoustic music at the Fallon House Theatre on Monday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Van Cleave returns to the Sonora, Columbia area after visiting his grandmother here in 1973. He will premier a new song inspired by that memory at his concert, which will also feature eclectic styles of music, from light rock to country to folk. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for children and are available for purchase online at www.sierrarep.org or by calling the Sierra Repertory Theatre Box Office at 209-532-3120.

Set in Deerlick, Missouri, the musical fits Columbia's historic feeling and should delight audiences seeking a taste of the wit of legendary humorist Mark Twain.

Imelda May's TRIBAL Out Today on Verve

On account of exciting and extensive tour commitments abroad, Irish rocker Imelda May is looking to the fall for the U.S. release of her upcoming album Tribal on Verve Records. The album, which debuted at #1 in Ireland and #3 in the UK, will now be released today, September 23.

MultiStages Presents TEMPLE OF SOULS at Theater for the New City, Now thru 9/28

MULTISTAGES has announced the new musical by award-winning Anita Velez-Mitchell, platinum-winning composers Dean Landon and Anika Paris, TEMPLE OF THE SOULS, with musical direction by Bruce Baumer and directed by Artistic Director Lorca Peress. TEMPLE OF THE SOULS will play a limited engagement at Theater for the New City - Johnson Theater (155 First Avenue, btw 9th/10th, NYC). Performances begin tonight, September 16 and continue through Sunday, September 28. Opening Night is Thursday, September 18 (8 p.m.).
