9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL to Open Walnut's 206th Anniversary Season,

Walnut Street Theatre opens its landmark 206th season with the wildly entertaining 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL. Directed by Bruce Lumpkin, with choreography by Michelle Gaudette, this outrageous musical comedy begins previews on September 2nd, opens on September 10th and runs through October 19th on the Walnut's Mainstage.

BWW Reviews: Can't Sit Still at FOOTLOOSE

Early in the first act of the Tom Snow - Dean Pitchford 1998 musical Footloose, Ren declares his passion for dancing - 'I can't sit still' - and, indeed, by the end of the evening at the Pickard Theatre, the audience for Maine State Music Theatre echoes his mantra. They are cheering, swaying, and shouting to the music, and embracing the exuberant, touching message of this show. Directed and choreographed brilliantly by Patti Colombo (assisted by Karl Warden) and performed by a dynamic cast, this fourth and final production of MSMT's 2014 season dazzles and delights.

Laguna Playhouse to Present 'MOTORCITY MAGIC', 8/13-24

The Laguna Playhouse is going to continue its Rock 'N Roll Summer by presenting the musical sounds of Motown in MOTORCITY MAGIC - A Musical Journey Through the Motown Years, directed by Michael Yorkell! MOTORCITY MAGIC will perform two weeks only - Wednesday, August 13 through Sunday, August 24 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 N. Laguna Canyon Rd. in Laguna Beach.

MPAC Hosts ROCK OF THE 80s Today

MPAC goes retro with a blast of 80s rock today, August 7 at 8 pm. Rock of the 80s features The Romantics ('What I Like About You'), The Smithereens ('A Girl Like You'), Marshall Crenshaw ('Someday, Someway') and Tommy Tutone ('867-5309/Jenny'). Tickets are $39-69.

Imelda May Plays the Bowery Ballroom Tonight

On account of exciting and extensive tour commitments abroad, Irish rocker Imelda May is looking to the fall for the U.S. release of her upcoming album Tribal on Verve Records.
