The Rushline Company is thrilled to announce completed casting for its upcoming world premiere of Troll by Ken Greller. Performances begin on April 7 at off-Broadway's Secret Theatre, where it will run through April 24. Opening night is set for April 8.

A limited engagement plays tonight, November 4 - 22 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street). This new work, developed through the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP), marks the culmination of a residency for Soomi Kim with HARP.

Los Angeles-based actress Rachel Keller is making her New York premiere as 'Olga' in the production of Marius von Mayenburg's FIREFACE this month at The Brick. The production runs tonight, August 26, through September 5, 2015, directed by Benjamin Viertel. 

Due to a scheduling conflict, Michelle Veintimilla will be replaced as 'Olga' by Los Angeles-based actress Rachel Keller, who is making her New York premiere with the production of Marius von Mayenburg's FIREFACE this August at The Brick. Additionally, Tony Award-winning actor Billy Porter of KINKY BOOTS has signed on to the team as Executive Producer.

The cast will feature Lucas Steele (Natasha, Pierre...1812, The Threepenny Opera), Trevor McQueen (Annie Get Your Gun), Annie Yokom (Prison Break) and Alex Spieth (blankmylife). Book, music & lyrics by Kyle Wilson, Joe Mendick and Sam French. The reading will be directed by Benjamin Viertel.

For its spring musical, Playhouse on the Square has reached several decades back and produced -- not an 'old warhorse of a musical' (sorry, Rodgers and Hammerstein) -- but a true thoroughbred, Cole Porter's sparkling, innovative (at the time) KISS ME, KATE. Just as Shakespeare himself created enduring plays by utilizing the best plots and characters of other works, so did Porter and his collaborators, Bella and Samuel Spewack -- they went right to the Bard himself, and in building their own superb entertainment around the rollicking THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, they created such a witty, enjoyable romp that would cause even the immortal Shakespeare to set aside his pen, smile, and snap his garters.

Theatre Now New York presented the 2nd Annual Sound Bites 10 Minute Musical Theatre Festival on December 8th 2014 at the 47th Street Theatre. An after-party, sponsored by Music Theatre International, was held after at Hurley's Saloon where awards were given and merriment was had.

Over 80 writers, directors, actors and musicians will present 10 unique musical shorts at SOUND BITES, a one-night-only off-Broadway event. The USITT-USA curatorial team chose two shows from Ripe Time Theatre in New York, a multimedia production from Paul Abacus, a “wandering opera” staged at LA's Union Station, and performance pieces from faculty at Auburn University in Alabama and Colorado College as the best overall productions for the exhibit.

When it comes to social dating apps, Grindr is one of the most ubiquitous. While not the first, it definitely shook up the world of digital dating, and has earned several different reputations for itself. Naturally, it is ripe for being the basis of a musical. This summer, audiences will no longer have to imagine what one would be like because GRINDR: THE MUSICAL is set to premiere at the 2014 West Village Musical Theatre Festival. Recently, I chatted with music, book, and lyrics writer Jacob Tischler and social media co-head Justin Petersen about their exciting, upcoming project.
