Featuring an all-female cast and directed by Benjamin Viertel, Third Space's The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant delves into the tortured connections between desire and power in an industry driven by consumption.

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company presents ONE FLEA SPARE, set to play Off-Broadway at the Sheen Center this fall. Tony Award nominee Concetta Tomei (The Clean House, Othello, 'Providence'), Remy Zaken(Spring Awakening), and Gordon Joseph Weiss (Fool for Love, Daphne's Dive) are set to star in this 20th year anniversary production, which marks the play's first appearance in New York City since its debut at The Public Theater in 1996. A volatile combination of music, imagery and dance take on the operatic form in Orpheus Unsung, composed by Steven Mackey with Jason Treuting (S? Percussion) in a production conceived and directed by Mark DeChiazza. Copresented with the Guthrie Theater June 16-18 at the Guthrie's Dowling Studio, Orpheus Unsung casts the electric guitar as the disembodied voice of Orpheus, who seeks to reverse fate and regain an irrevocably lost Eurydice. In this wordless opera, the myth is shattered and ultimately re-made within a space that fragments story and identity, and hangs in teetering balance between solidity and hallucinatory illusion. Orpheus's journey is illuminated in new language, as music collides and fuses with the expression of the body, cinematic imagery, and transformations of physical space. Alongside an ensemble of three dancers, Mackey and Treuting perform live in Orpheus Unsung, which will be presented alongside Mackey's engaging and personal string quartet Ars Moriendi, performed by musicians of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.

This year's installment of the annual developmental workshop series for the senior Drama class at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS), Some of the Things Inside is directed by Allison Talis and will play Joe's Pub Monday, April 18th at 7:00pm.

Thao's Library, written and performed by Elizabeth Van Meter (directed by Joe Ricci), will begin performances on Wednesday, April 20th and open Thursday, April 28th for a limited run through Saturday, May 7th.
