Second Thought Theatre Announces Area Premiere of EMPATHITRAX

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2018 season by reuniting Jenny Ledel and Drew Wall for the area premiere of Empathitrax by Ana Nogueira. Wall and Ledel previously starred opposite each other in Second Thought's 2015 hit Belleville by Amy Herzog. Carson McCain returns to direct after previously directing The Great God Pan (2016) and assistant directing Belleville and Booth. This year she directs "a compassionate, humorous, and unflinchingly honest portrait of a relationship that dares to test the limits of intimacy." Empathitrax begins with previews on Wednesday, April 4 and runs through Saturday, April 28. Second Thought Theatre Opens 2018 Season with HILLARY AND CLINTON

Second Thought Theatre opens its first four-show season since 2013 with the area premiere of Hillary and Clinton by Lucas Hnath. Laura Colleluori makes her STT directorial debut after previously serving as assistant director and dramaturg for Grounded (2017) and A Kid Like Jake (2016). This year she directs a work of total fiction about a woman named Hillary who is trying to become the president of a country called the United States of America in an alternate universe light years away. Hillary and Clinton begins with previews on Wednesday, January 10 and runs through Saturday, February 3. Second Thought Theatre Announces 2018 Season

On the heels of closing a successful 13th season, Second Thought Theatre Artistic Director Alex Organ announced details for the company's 2018 season today. The new season adds a fourth production for the first time since 2013 and is comprised of three area premieres and one world premiere. Play selections include 'a work of total fiction' taking place during the 2008 New Hampshire Democratic primary, a committed couple resorting to a miracle drug to regain their capacity for empathy, a city planner fighting for the safety of a town that doesn't want his help, and a provocative ensemble piece that exposes the incongruities of being a woman in the 21st century. Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its 2015 season at the Kalita Humphreys Theater complex, which will feature the regional premiere of the 2013 Tony Award nominated play, The Nance, the professional area premiere of the 2011 Tony nominated musical Catch Me If You Can, the 2014 Tony award winning musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, plus a new play entitled Harbor, which just completed a successful off-broadway run. Uptown Players will also present its annual fundraising performance, this year entitled Christmas Our Way, which will be held in December 2014.
