Leaders of 39 Unions Demand Fair Treatment for Broadway Casting Directors: 'New York Is a Union Town'

The New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO executive board of 39 unions from across the city wrote a letter to Broadway League Chairman Robert Wankel today, demanding fair treatment for theater's casting directors.

Allison Janney to Receive Palm Springs Film Festival's Spotlight Award

The 29th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Allison Janney with the Spotlight Award - Actress at its annual Film Awards Gala for her performance in I, Tonya. The Film Awards Gala, hosted by Mary Hart, will be held Tuesday, January 2 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The Festival runs January 2-15, 2018.

The announcement of the nominations marks the opening of the final voting stage which closes 31 January, with the winners announced at the annual Awards ceremony held on 25 February 2018 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
