The Brand Signature Series concludes Aurora Theatre's 18th season with the hysterical Don't Dress for Dinner by Marc Camoletti. The show runs May 1-25, 2014. In this this hilarious romp through the French countryside, Bernard concocts a romantic rendezvous with his mistress with an alibi courtesy of his friend, Robert. But Bernard's wife decides on a surprise tryst of her own. With a gourmet cook and a randy mistress-both named Suzy-a wacky collision course of mistaken identity and outrageous infidelity ensues. To celebrate Serenbe Playhouse's fifth anniversary, titled a Season of Journeys, three unique and groundbreaking productions will take audiences on three unforgettable excursions into the imagination. Back by popular demand, book clubs take the spotlight in the New Year with the return of The Book Club Play by Karen Zacari?as at Horizon Theatre. The show follows a tight-knit book club bound for pandemonium when it becomes the focus of a documentary film. The Book Club Play runs tonight, January 17 - February 23, 2014.

Beloved children's book Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat is Aurora Learning Library's winter show that will be performed weekday mornings as a field trip for over 7,000 elementary school students. Based on the high level of interest from teachers and parents, Aurora Theatre is adding two evening performances for families to enjoy this children's classic live on stage. On Tuesday, January 28 and Monday, February 10 at 6:00pm, families will have two chances to see the fully produced stage version of The Cat in the Hat, the play originally produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain. From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and craziest of ideas, he is certainly fun to play with. And he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure. But what will Mom find when she gets home…?

STAGE DOOR PLAYERS, Dunwoody's own professional theatre company, continues its 40th Anniversary Season with The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays by Ken Ludwig, directed by Robert Egizio. In his mom's basement in Cincinnati, Dave and his friends are plotting a caper that will deliver them from the Darth Vader-like clutches of life's dark side. As die-hard Star Wars enthusiasts, Dave's plan involves stealing a stash of coveted collectibles. Against Jabba-sized odds, their plan is so crazy, it just might work. This new comedy is more fun than a barrel of Wookies. The play is written by Joseph Zettelmaier, a Michigan-based playwright and four-time nominee for the Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association Award for best new play including All Childish Things.

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2011-2012 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons and theatre industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. The spacious lobby allowed guests to enjoy drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate their colleagues. Guest announcers, Atlanta's own funny men Bryan Brendle, Bart Hansard, Tony Larkin, Aurora Theatre artistic director Tony Rodriguez and Scott Warren shared the list of nominees while playfully riffing on the 2011/2012 Atlanta theatre season.
