Partly Cloudy People to Present Revival of TIGERS BE STILL, 5/9-25

Partly Cloudy People has announced its production of Kim Rosenstock's Tigers Be Still, directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. Tigers Be Still will play a three-week limited engagement at the DRILLING COMPANY THEATER (236 West 78 Street, Floor 3). Performances begin Thursday, May 9 and continue through Saturday, May 25. Opening night is May 9 (8 pm).

Two events will be featured at The Grove Theatre and Academy: Saturday, April 14th at 8:00 pm, The Perfect Gentlemen will blend their special brand of music and humor; and on April 21st at 8:00 pm, Judy Tenuta will perform with her unique brand of adult humor.

The Grove Theatre in Historic downtown Upland presents an evening of adult humor with comedian Judy Tenuta for One Night Only on Saturday, April 21st. Judy has strong stage, television, comedy and film credits, having appeared in “The Vagina Monologues' and in 'Menopause the Musical' both in LA and Chicago, and has had her own stand-up specials on Showtime, HBO and Lifetime. Judy was the first female stand-up comic to win 'Best Female Comedian' at the American Comedy Awards and is a two-time Grammy nominee for her comedy CD'S. That same year, she became the national spokesperson for a series of Diet Dr. Pepper commercials. The self-described 'Love Goddess' and 'Aphrodite of the Accordion' has made hundreds of guest and co-hosting appearances on such popular TV shows as 'The View', 'Late Night with David Letterman', 'Larry King Live', 'Entertainment Tonight', and 'Comics Unleashed'.

On Monday, January 31, The Nightlife Awards were hosted by Bruce Vilanch. The evening has no acceptance speeches -- it's just pure entertainment provided by the winners and special guest stars. The show has been hailed by The New York Times as 'The equivalent of The Tony Awards for New York Nightlife.' As always, the vast majority of the winners, chosen by the press, agreed to come to Town Hall and perform.

After beginning the evening with a disclaimer that more or less states 'if you expect serious opera, you have come to the wrong venue', Migenes clearly and frankly details the practically impossible feats that are expected from a diva in an operatic performance and then proceeds to illustrate them to the audience through wickedly exaggerated yet endearingly loving renditions.
