Theatre Y presents Euripides' Medea, freely adapted by poet Robinson Jeffers at Theatre Y, 2649 N. Francisco Ave. in Chicago, today, May 7-June 1, 2014. Director Kevin V. Smith returns to the helm to bring a bold, dangerous, and emotionally rich dreamvision to Euripides' classic, having previously directed Theatre Y's wildly imaginative and experimental productions of Exiles and The Misunderstanding.

The World Premiere of John Adams full length play The Taste of It, will be presented at Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios, June 7th - 29th. This production is being directed by Alex Levy and produced by Ballybeg.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the line-up for the ninth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 26 - August 24, 2014 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2014 includes: Ironbound by Martyna Majok, Hushabye by Tanya Saracho and Okay, Bye by Joshua Conkel. The 2014 festival also features readings of two new plays, American Beauty Shop by Dana Lynn Formby and Opium Den by Julie Marie Myatt. Last night's season finale of Bravo Media's “Southern Charm” scored 1.2 million total viewers and 680,000 P18-49, up 12 percent and eight percent, respectively, from the prior week's episode (04/14/14), according to Nielsen. This marks the highest-rated episode of the series among all key demos. Earlier in the night, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” delivered 1.8 million total viewers, marking an eight percent growth compared to last week's episode.
