AMERICAN IDIOT, SPIDER-MAN's Bono & Edge to Give New Year's Eve Performance in Times Square w/ Carson Daly

The cast of Green Day's smash hit Broadway musical 'American Idiot' and teen viral video phenomenon Greyson Chance help ring in 2011 by performing live on 'NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly.' Additionally, NBC's Jimmy Fallon ('Late Night with Jimmy Fallon') and NBC News' Brian Williams treat viewers to a special appearance while 'SNL' cast member Jay Pharoah and Internet celebrity Antoine Dodson stop by for interviews.

NBC NIGHTLY NEWS Earns Record High Ratings

-Seeing over 9 million total viewers for six weeks in a row, 'NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams' heads into the final weeks of 2010 as America's number one evening newscast. According to Nielsen Media Research data, more than 9.6 million Americans tuned in to 'Nightly' for the week ending December 19, 2010, as the NBC broadcast delivered +1.383 million more than ABC 'World News,' 8.275 million and +3.441 million more than CBS 'Evening News' 6.217 million. 'Nightly' has won for 66 consecutive weeks, and in 113 of the past 114 weeks in total viewers. On Monday night, 'Nightly' delivered over 10.8 million total viewers-its biggest single day delivery since Nov. 26, 2010. 'Nightly' has now topped ABC 'World News' by over 1 million viewers for seven consecutive weeks. Season-to-date, 'Nightly' leads 'World News' by +1,137,000 total viewers.

NBC NIGHTLY NEWS Gets 9 Million Viewers for Last 5 Weeks

More than 9.4 million Americans tuned in to 'NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams' for the week ending December 12, 2010, according to Nielsen Media Research data. 'Nightly' continues its reign as the number one evening newscast, seeing +1.013 million more than ABC 'World News,' 8.403 million and +3.420 million more than CBS 'Evening News' 5.996 million. 'Nightly' has delivered at least 9 million total viewers for five consecutive weeks- winning for 65 consecutive weeks, and in 112 of the past 113 weeks in total viewers. Season-to-date, 'Nightly' leads 'World News' by +1,118,000 total viewers. This is the sixth consecutive week that the NBC News program has topped ABC 'World News' by over 1 million viewers.

NBC Nightly News Expands Senior Leadership Team

America's number-one evening newscast, 'NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,' will expand its senior leadership team, executive producer Bob Epstein announced today. Jamie Kraft will join the 'Nightly News' team as Senior Broadcast Producer. Kraft, who most recently served as Executive Producer of CNN's 'American Morning,' will primarily oversee day of air production.

NBC News Wins Five Murrow Awards

NBC News and MSNBC have been honored with five national 2010 Edward R. Murrow awards, more than any other network. The national and local winners were announced today by The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and will be presented at the RTDNA awards dinner New York on October 11, 2010. The Murrow awards honor excellence in electronic journalism.

Boys II Men to Perform at CHRISTMAS IN ROCKEFELLER CENTER, 11/30

NBC will celebrate the lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree once again with a live broadcast from Rockefeller Center in New York City on Tuesday, November 30 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT). The star-studded holiday special will feature performances by Boyz II Men, Susan Boyle, Mariah Carey, Charice, Sheryl Crow, Jackie Evancho, Josh Groban, Katherine Jenkins, Annie Lennox, Kylie Minogue, Jessica Simpson and The Radio City Rockettes with a mix of current hits and holiday classics.The 78th annual holiday extravaganza will feature a tree that is 74 feet high, 40 feet in diameter and weighs a whopping 12 tons.

For the very first time, NBC 4 New York will televise live coverage of the New York City Veterans Day Parade which airs Thursday, November 11th from 12:00PM - 2:00PM on WNBC/Channel 4. The theme for this year's parade is 'Freedom is not Free.' The parade is organized by the United War Veteran's Council.
