Broadway In Chicago and the producers of the new musical THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, announced today that tickets will be available for 14 additional weeks of performances of THE BOOK OF MORMON at the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe). A new block of tickets for performances June 4 - September 8, 2013 will go on-sale to the public on Monday, January 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets are sold out through March 3, 2013, with some tickets still available March 5 - June 2, 2013.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken the house records in three different cities for the week ending December 30, 2012.

According to the show's official website, Mark Evans and Christopher John O'Neill will join the cast of the national tour of The Book of Mormon as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham respectively. They replace Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner who join the West End company at the Prince of Wales Theatre from 25 February 2013. American Airlines has been announced as the official airline of the new critically acclaimed new production of the Tony Award-winning musical Annie. Cast members from the production will perform a selection of songs from the show at Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport as part of American Airlines' JFK concert series on Friday, December 21 at 2:15 PM and 2:45 p.m.

The Second National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, broke the house record in its first week of performances at the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe). The show grossed $1,493,961 for the week ending December 16. THE BOOK OF MORMON began performances on December 11, 2012, with performances through June 2, 2013. Broadway In Chicago and the show's producers have announced some tickets are still available March 5 - June 2, 2013 and due to popular demand, performances are now sold out through March 3, 2013.

Emmy and Tony Award winner Blythe Danner will join the cast of Nice Work If You Can Get It for 12 weeks only beginning today, December 18th and continuing through March 10th. Ms. Danner will assume the role of Millicent Winter, the mother of Matthew Broderick's character Jimmy Winter. The role was originated on Broadway by Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons, who played her final performance on Sunday, December 16.

Lilla Crawford, star of the new Broadway production of Annie will perform live on ABC's 'Live! With Kelly and Michael' between 9:00AM-10:00AM EST this Tuesday. In the New York area, 'Live! The National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, will play Las Vegas as part of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts 2013-14 Broadway Las Vegas Season in the summer of 2014.

The Public Theater's acclaimed epic musical Giant closes today, December 16, after playing an additional two weeks. With book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and directed by Michael Greif, Giant officially opened on Thursday, November 15 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 2.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that the cast of the acclaimed epic musical GIANT will enter the recording studio in January to create an original cast album, which will be released by Ghostlight Records in spring 2013. GIANT officially opened at The Public on November 15 and features a book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and direction by Michael Greif. The show will end its limited run at The Public Theater at Astor Place on Sunday, December 16 following a final two-week extension.

According to Variety, Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman recently commented on a potential movie version of 'South Park' creators' Trey Parker and Matt Stone's hit Broadway musical The Book of Mormon. Viacom owns Comedy Central, which airs 'South Park'.

According to the Chicago Tribune, American Idol finalist Syesha Mercado has joined the cast of The Book of Mormon in Chicago and will be playing the featured role of 'Nabulungi'. Stephanie Umoh previously played the role. No details have been released on why she left.
