Although gathering at Florida Repertory Theatre to see a play in person is still some time away, they have found a new, creative way to bring theatre to their audiences: a virtual performance of CLUE, recorded via Zoom. 

Florida Repertory Theatre presents a virtual reading production of 'Clue' to benefit the theatre while COVID-related restrictions prevent indoor in-person gatherings.

Florida Rep has announced a whole slate of digital offerings as its Fall 2020 Virtual Season. The fall season includes the Stage@Home Virtual Talkback Series (through Oct. 30), the 2020 Virtual PlayLab Festival (Nov. 5-Dec. 11), and a streaming production of 'Clue' starring the theatre's ensemble of professional actors (Oct. 29-Nov. 1).

Florida Repertory Theatre's production of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, directed by Florida Rep's Artistic Director, Greg Longenhagen, is a fun rom-com that tells the story of a newlywed couple moving into a new apartment and all the ups and downs of their first couple weeks of marriage.

Rehearsals are underway for Alliance Theatre's upcoming production of Shakespeare in Love, based on the 1998 film that won seven Academy Awards including Best Picture. Georgia Shakespeare co-founder and Artistic Director Richard Garner is directing this love letter to William Shakespeare in his company's former home at Oglethorpe University's Conant Performing Arts Center while the Alliance Theatre undergoes a complete renovation. Performances are August 30 - September 24, 2017.  Opening night is Today, September 6. Actor's Express presents a reading of Joshua Harmon's comedy Ivanka: A Medea for Right Now for a one-night special engagement on October 30, 2016 at 7 PM. Directed by A. Julian Verner, this performance is free and open to the public.

With a tiny black box space, this hole-in-the-wall theatre is easy to overlook, but the same cannot be said for the magnitude of its production, directed by Richard Garner.

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2013-2014 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to theatre patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Actor's Express in the King Plow Arts Center of Atlanta. Guest announcers included performers Christy Baggett, Laura Cole, Danielle Deadwyler, and Tess Malis Kincaid.

I am quite aware that this will sound sacrilegious to many who read this review, but until I saw Actor's Express' titillating production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, I had never seen the musical before. I have a vague recollection of watching the film version on VH1's 'Movies That Rock' at some point in the mid-90's, but other than seeing Susan Sarandon in her underwear, it didn't do much to interest me. So, as I made my way to the King Plow Arts Center, I expected to be impressed by the tremendous young talents in the cast, but what I didn't expect was to be transported to another world of naughty, musical theatre ecstasy.

Actor's Express and Artistic Director Freddie Ashley are excited to invite the press to the opening of The Rocky Horror Show, by Richard O'Brien, directed by Freddie Ashley, and featuring some of Atlanta's top notch musical theatre stars. Music direction is by Seth Davis, choreography is by Ricardo Aponte. The production opens Saturday night, July 12, 2014, 8pm curtain. Preview performances are July 10 and 11, and the ever-popular pay-what-you-want sneak peek, "Director's Rough Cut", is Wednesday, July 9.
