The Vineyard Theatre will celebrate the songs of Dory Previn - the late pop/folk singer-songwriter whose numerous hits include "Come SaturdayMorning" and the theme from "Valley of the Dolls" - at its annual Gala Fundraiser on Monday, February 24th beginning at 6:30pm at the Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47 St in Manhattan), it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Vineyard Theatre's Artistic Director and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director. The Vineyard Gala will not only celebrate Ms. Previn's witty, heartbreaking and provocative songs, but will feature selections from her poems, plays and memoirs, as well.

On Thursday, December 5th, BROADWAY SERVES presented 'MOTOWN Serves Mapplethorpe,' a brief review of the currently running show, Motown the Musical, in honor of World AIDS Day (December 1st). Narrated by Motown consultant, Dick Scanlan, members of the cast performed at Beth Israel Medical Center's Podell Auditorium for patients at the Robert Mapplethorpe Residential Treatment Facility, Peter Krueger Center for Immunological Disorders, and VillageCare. The 25th anniversary edition of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' Gypsy of the Year Competition will be presented Monday, December 9 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, December 10 (2 PM) at the Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway). The show will feature performances by New York's best actors, singers, dancers, and musicians with several guest appearances, including Tyne Daly, Cherry Jones, Ian McKellen, Mark Rylance, and Patrick Stewart.
