Although I hadn't read any of the first wave of reviews, by the time I was seated for my post-opening night press performance at the Hirschfeld it was pretty much common knowledge to the entire Broadway community that the new (and from the looks of her Playbill bio, the only) creation from bookwriter/composer/lyricist Jill Santoriello brought out gobs of that legendary New York theatre critic acid wit among the great majority of my colleagues.

Benny Andersson and Bj?rn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! welcomed Brandi Burkhardt to the Broadway cast as bride-to-be 'Sophie Sheridan' when she began performances at the Winter Garden Theatre on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009. Burkhardt was a guest on WGHT Radio's 'CURTAIN CALL with Teisha Bader'. Burkhardt made her Broadway debut earlier this season when she created the role of 'Lucie Manette' in the world premiere musical A Tale of Two Cities. She also starred as 'Daisy Mae' in Lil' Abner for the Los Angeles Reprise series and as 'Emma' in the international touring production of Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection.

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! will welcome Brandi Burkhardt to the Broadway cast as bride-to-be 'Sophie Sheridan' when she begins performances at the Winter Garden Theatre on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009. Allison Case will play her final performance in the role on Sunday, January 25th.

James Barbour's Sardi's Holiday Concert Series Begins Festive Run 12/20

The special guest are list has been announced for James Barbour'S HOLIDAY CONCERT at Sardi's (234 West 44th Street - between Broadway & Eighth Avenue). The series of evenings begins tonight, December 20th. The starry list is as follows, Brandi Burkhardt (December 20), Natalie Toro (December 23), Derek Keeling and Kate Shindle (December 24), Jodi Graham (December 26), Deborah Gibson (December 27), Marla Schaffel (December 30), Marc Kudisch (January 2), Natalie Toro and Kevin Earley (January 3), and film and stage star Jack Noseworthy (January 4). The Concert is at 8:30 pm. THE HOLIDAY CONCERT will play at Sardi's through Sunday, January 4th where it intends to become an annual event. It is being presented by Treehouse Entertainment, Inc. and Roberta Nusim for TMA (Theatrical Marketing Associates).

Executive Producers Barbra Russell and Ron Sharpe will close Jill Santoriello's sweeping musical epic, 'A TALE OF TWO CITIES' on Broadway today, Sunday, November 9th at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). The musical moved the date of closing up a week from the originally announced final performance of November 16th. The early closing was confirmed to BroadwayWorld by a spokesperson for the production.

European producer Werner Signer announced the workshop of 'The Count Of Monte Cristo,' the latest Wildhorn/Murphy collaboration, which opens in St. Gallen, Switzerland on March 24, 2009. The European pre-cast recording, which was recorded in Vienna in English with both European stars and Brandi Burkhardt as Mercedes, has been #1 on the European charts for two weeks now.
