FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents the 7th edition of Cutting-Edge Composers. Cutting-Edge Composers is a concert series that strives to create greater exposure for up-and-coming songwriters by providing them with venues, publicity, Broadway performers, and musicians to best showcase their material. Cutting-Edge Composers is directed and produced by Laura Pietropinto, co-produced by Allie Glickman, and features musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala and orchestrations by Rauhala and Julie McBride.
Broadway's Future Songbook Series -- presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul -- just presented the songs of award-winning lyricist Jill Abramovitz. The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial lineup for NYMF 2016. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections, developmental reading selections, and concerts. Now in its thirteenth year, the 2016 Festival will take place in July at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City.

This one-night-only concert event will be Saturday, June 27th at 8pm. The evening features the world premiere performance of 12 'micro-musicals' created in Prospect's 2015 Musical Theater Lab. Each of these original, hot-off-the-presses musical theater shorts runs under seven minutes, and has been inspired by a number -- one through twelve -- creating a song cycle collectively written over the lab's month-long time span by participating composers & lyricists.
