Theater at Monmouth kicks off its 45th Anniversary Season with the return of Black Fly Follies today, July 5 at 7:30 pm.

ABOUT AGAINST ME!: Fronted by Laura Jane Grace, AM!'s much-anticipated latest offering, "Transgender Dysphoria Blues", was released January 2014. The title of their sixth album offers a direct nod to news that shocked fans and shook up the rock world when it was dropped-Grace is a transitioning transgender person.

2Cents Theatre, the producers of the critically-acclaimed, sold-out production of the hit musical Rent in conjunction with a multiple award-winning team, now brings to Los Angeles a 40th Anniversary production of David Rabe's historic IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM, with choreography by Alli Miller ('Cherry Poppins Caburlesque') and directed by 2Cents Artistic Director Kristen Boule. IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM will preview today, July 4 at noon and will open on Saturday, July 5 and run through Sunday, August 3 at the Hudson Backstage, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

David Basse began his professional music career in 1969, when his parents trusted the neighbors to keep an eye on him while they vacationed in California. Basse seized that opportunity and turned it into a six-night gig at a local cocktail lounge with a band named "Carroll Lee and the Moonlighters". This gig was the first small step in mastering many styles of drumming and subsequently learning to sing from the drumset. He stayed with Lee for the next three years, earning his way through high school and onto the road at age 17. In 1974, he landed in Kansas City, after gigs in Denver, Nashville, New Orleans, Winnipeg Manitoba, a trip to LA and various teenaged forays throughout the United States.

The highly anticipated Off-Broadway premiere of MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL - the brand new musical that celebrates the life of the original 1970s disco queen SYLVESTER, with songs like '(You Make Me Feel) Mighty Real', 'Can't Stop Dancing' and 'You Are My Friend', begins previews at Theatre at St. Clement's on September 5th, 2014 with an opening set for September 14th, 2014. The Tony Administration Committee may bestow a Special Tony Award to a production when it determines that extraordinary sound design has been achieved.

Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, announced today that preeminent American art scholar Morrison H. Heckscher will retire on June 30, following 13 years as Lawrence A. Fleischman Chairman of The American Wing and a distinguished curatorial career at the Museum that spanned nearly five decades. He will become Curator Emeritus of The American Wing on July 1.
