B Street Theatre has announced its 2026 Mainstage and Family Series seasons as the company marks its 40th anniversary. The lineup includes new works, award-winning plays, and programming for young audiences, along with workshops for a new world-premiere musical.
The press release on this coupling promised “an evening of unparalleled artistry,” a very lofty intention indeed. But after a few numbers I tend to agree whole-heartedly – these two critically-acclaimed musicians put on a master class that at moments, took my breath away.
Rex Allen - America's Last Singing Cowboy is the latest release by Country Rewind Records and the first in a new series, referred to as the Western Heritage Series which will also feature The Son's of the Pioneers and Tex Ritter. Rex Allen was a multimedia star before the term 'multimedia' was coined. He found fame as a singer, a song- writer, a Western movie star, a television actor and (in later life) as a narrator of Disney movies and TV shows. Mack Avenue Records is excited to share Julian Lage's new video ahead of his soon-to-be-released album, Love Hurts, out February 22. The live performance video is a beautiful document of this incredible trio at work (Lage with bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King of The Bad Plus) performing the Roy Orbison classic, 'Crying.' Style, control, and range are unusually balanced for a duet show; the artists feel palpably simpatico. They even look like a “set.” In fact, still flush with romance, Spector and Barrett are coming up on their first anniversary. The married duo performed a clever idea for an evening of song, This is Dedicated: Music's Greatest Marriages,that opened Tuesday night for a four-show run at Feinstein's/54 Below.
