BWW Review: Theatre Three's Annual Production of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL

The show is wonderful to begin with; that you can be sure. Theatre Three's 33rd annual production of the beloved Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol has certainly become a beautiful tradition on Long Island. Even with slight changes throughout the years, this ageless production is as spectacular as ever.

BWW Review: SHREK, THE MUSICAL at Theatre Three

It is truly a pleasure seeing Shrek, The Musical. Based on the sure-to-be-classic DreamWorks Animation motion picture, the superb incarnation at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson boasts a truly remarkable cast. Running through June 25th, Jeffrey Sanzel wonderfully directs the large, talented company that is led by Danny Stalter - in his Theatre Three debut - as our favorite green ogre.

BWW Review: Theatre Three's GODSPELL

As often as Godspell is presented, I always encourage seeing it again particularly when you have a cast as superb as Theatre Three's. Under the marvelous direction of Artistic Director Jeffrey Sanzel, the stunning company is exemplary for the perfect execution of this important story that is told time and time again.

CM Performing Arts Center Presents GODSPELL, Now thru 4/19

Godspell is a high energy and heartwarming musical that joyously animates the parables in the gospel according to the apostle Matthew. Messages of love, generosity, joy, and faith are presented in song, dance, and all forms of theatrical play in this exuberant, rocking, rolling, and riveting production. Godspell features a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz, and some of the best loved songs from modern musicals, including 'Day by Day,' 'Light of the World' and 'By My Side.' This family-friendly show has touched the hearts of countless theatergoers. It is a powerful message of kindness, tolerance, loyalty and love to be experienced and felt joyously.

CM Performing Arts to Present GUYS AND DOLLS, Begin. 5/2

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. It soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight 'mission doll' and Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who would bet on anything that would turn him a profit - until he meets his match in Sarah. We also meet the chronically ill Adelaide and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiance, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game. Will 'Luck Be A Lady' to these star crossed lovers?

BWW Blog: 'Why Must the Show Go On?' or 'There's No Crying in Theatre'

Why must the show go on? It can't be all that indispensable. To me, it really isn't sensible on the whole, To play a leading role, While fighting those tears you can't control. Why kick up your legs When draining the dregs Of sorrow's bitter cup? Because you have read Some idiot has said 'The curtain must stay up!'
