The Lark named five New York City-based playwrights as Rita Goldberg Playwrights' Workshop Fellows for the 2016-17 season. The group spans a wide range of backgrounds and professional experiences and will meet regularly throughout the year to develop new plays.

The Playwrights Realm, led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing DirectorRoberta Pereira, presents the line up for INK'D, their annual festival of new plays. Running May 17-20 at 7pm, The Realm will present staged readings of new work by 2015-16 Writing Fellows Sam Chanse, Lauren Feldman, Jonathan Payne, and David Zax. INK'D exemplifies The Realm's ever-expanding commitment to providing holistic support to playwrights as they strive to make a life in the arts.

This week, East West Players (EWP) and New Musicals Inc. (NMI) are proud to announce the Finalists for their joint initiative to develop a new musical.

 Blue Raincoat, Ireland's longest running theatre ensemble are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a diverse programme of work which will take them from their native Sligo to New York and Barcelona, performing in the company's myriad theatrical styles.

CDP: Collaborative, Development, & Production is thrilled to announce its 5 Year Anniversary Concert at Joe's Pub! Come Celebrate 5 years of new musicals in this concert of songs highlighting 14 shows that have been developed through CDP in collaboration with NYU's Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and Undergraduate Drama.  Come see an eclectic evening of madness, missing parents, and mosquitos featuring current and alumni actors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

"Hear it here first!" After an overwhelmingly successful inaugural season, The Gallery Players continues OVERTURES, their series of new musical theatre readings. Helmed by theatre director and scholar, Barrie Gelles, OVERTURES was created in order to foster the creation of new musical theatre and support the talented composers and writers as they develop their work.

Requiem has music and lyrics by Robbie Torres and a book by Alex Rubin. The new musical follows Michael who returns home for the first time in years to face the ghosts of his past, uncovering family secrets and unfinished business.  The presentation features Seth Rettberg (Avenue Q), Sean Doherty (The Lightning Thief), Sam Heldt, Jessica Hendy, and Ariella Serur

Just in time for Halloween, Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, presents STAGE FRIGHT, a collection of macabre mini-musicals, the culminating production of Prospect's 2015 Annual Music Theater Lab, from October 25-31 at the West End Theatre at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew (263 West 86th Street).

After a dizzying number of new musicals appeared in the recent Hollywood Fringe Festival, soon the 18th annual Stages Musical Theatre Festival will be returning to Los Angeles this August. This prestigious festival features new musicals, which have been developed across the country, presented in concert readings. This year's festival features six musicals, presented in two venues over two weekends: This weekend, August 21-23 at New Musicals Inc., 5628 Vineland in North Hollywood and August 28-30 at 3D Theatricals, 1255 N. Knollwood Circle in Anaheim, CA 92801.

Once came home to Dublin's Grafton Street when the cast from Once the Musical surprised the crowd with a performance of some of the best-loved songs from the smash-hit, award-winning show including the Oscar-winning 'Falling Slowly.' Check out the performance below!
