Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger Named '2014 CEO of the Year'

Chief Executive magazine today announced that Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has been named '2014 CEO of the Year,' an honor bestowed upon an outstanding corporate leader, nominated and selected by a group of CEO peers.

Anne Sweeney Will Exit Disney in January 2015

Anne Sweeney, who oversaw 18 years of tremendous growth and success of Disney's global entertainment and news properties and who helped shepherd the television industry into the digital age, today announced that she would be departing The Walt Disney Company [NYSE: DIS] in January of 2015 to pursue a career in Television Directing. Sweeney, who joined the company in 1996, is currently co-chair, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group.

Disney Developing Big Screen Adaptation of ARTEMIS FOWL

The Walt Disney Studios is pleased to announce that it is in development on the film adaptation of Artemis Fowl with producer Harvey Weinstein. The live-action feature will be based on the first and second installments in Disney Publishing Worldwide's best-selling children's fiction series by author Eoin Colfer. The screenplay is being written by Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal will executive produce the project.

Famed ABC Executive Preston Davies Dies at 63

Longtime ABC executive Preston Davis, retired President of Broadcast Operations & Engineering for ABC, died on April 15, 2013 after an illness. Mr. Davis was 63 years old.
