According to Philippine news organization Inquirerer.net, Cameron Mackintosh and company will soon be returning to Manila in search of future cast members for upcoming global productions of MISS SAIGON.
Cameron Mackintosh announced on November 19 that his acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON - a smash hit in London since its premiere there in May, 2014 - will open on Broadway in the spring of 2017 at a Shubert theater to be announced. The Broadway return of MISS SAIGON will feature its acclaimed London stars, Filipino-born and L.A. resident Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer and 19 year-old North Carolina native Eva Noblezada as Kim, who was discovered by the MISS SAIGON casting team at the National High School Musical Awards two years ago in New York. First performance and opening night dates will be announced at a later date.
A major North American tour of MISS SAIGON will launch in the fall of 2018 at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) in Providence, RI. The Providence Performing Arts Center has been privileged to launch eleven National Tour since 2008.

The production will close on January 15, 2018, prior to launching a national tour, which will open Providence, R.I. Stops in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and more are currently scheduled.
Director Cassey Kivnick has been chosen as the 2015-2016 Mike Ockrent Fellow on Jerry Mitchell's Gotta Dance. Ms. Kivnick's fellowship will last the entire length of the production process, with pre-production and rehearsals on Gotta Dance beginning in November 2015 and continuing on until the spring 2016 premiere on Broadway. Ms. Kivnick will receive a $5000 award.
BroadwayWorld has learned the sad news that playwright Jerome Kass has died. A Tony nominee for penning the book of the 1978 musical BALLROOM, Kass passed away in his Manhatta home on Thursday, Oct. 22 from prostate cancer. He was 78.
