Masterworks Chorale opens its twelfth concert season on September 27, 3:00 pm, at the Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts. Artistic Director Kathy Bizarth has returned to lead these dedicated singers who, with Accompanist David Kinrade, share their talents and skills with our community in schools and churches.

The Flat Rock Playhouse announced today the plays, musicals and Music on the Rock concerts slated for the 2016 Season as well as a streamlined subscription package plan.

Earlier this year, Alan Cumming made his Cafe Carlyle debut with his solo show, ALAN CUMMING SINGS SAPPY SONGS, in which he performed songs full of emotion and authenticity by artists as diverse as Billy Joel, Stephen Sondheim, Bob Dylan, Jerry Herman and Miley Cyrus, to name a few. The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has announced the Cafe Carlyle's fall 2015 season, which features the venue debuts of the Broadway veteran Brian Stokes Mitchell, who kicks off the season, and jazz vocalist Kurt Elling; as well as the return of audience favorites Buster Poindexter (aka David Johansen), Alexa Ray Joel, John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey, and Steve Tyrell. 

Madison Square Garden Entertainment welcomes legendary musician and Garden franchise Billy Joel in his 20th show as part of his record-breaking residency at The World's Most Famous Arena tonight, August 20th, 2015. After 18 months, the August show, part of the Time Warner Cable Concert Series, will be Joel's 66th all-time performance at The Garden.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced JUDY CARMICHAEL will perform her THIS IS MY LUCKY DAY! cabaret show on Saturday, September 19 at 8 pm. 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Ricky Byrd will bring his Clean Getaway All Stars to the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on September 19 at 8 pm. This concert will benefit The McCall Foundation of Torrington, a local drug and alcohol treatment center.

Liz Callaway's For the Record show last night at The Metropolitan Room was literally the live recording of songs in preparation for her upcoming autumn CD release, The Essential Liz Callaway, 'and another recording I have up my sleeve later.' Except for a pause between numbers, choices with seemingly little cohesive rhyme or reason were so fluently bridged by amiable, explanatory patter one might've thought this was a thematic show. The eminently likeable performer made us feel we were in her living room, while never letting down professional standards.
